A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Abigail came out when she received a call from Jasper, who told her that he was waiting for her outside the office building. She saw his Maserati parked on the roadside and got into it.
"What is the matter? You summoned me so urgently."
Jasper drove away without answering her.
He was having trouble sleeping these days because he had been missing her so much. He wanted to see her and came to the Sherman Group. When he called her and discovered that Christopher was not at work, he invited her to come out. But he couldn't tell her all this. So, he didn't reply to her.
Abigail became tense as she observed his solemn expression. She remembered how hurriedly Christopher had gone out. She began to suspect that Christopher and Jasper had had an argument.
"Is everything all right?" she asked with a trembling heart.
