The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Christopher finally came out of the conference hall after a long meeting. As he was heading to his cabin, he saw Eddie exiting the elevator. He halted and scowled at him, clearly annoyed.

"Good morning," Eddie said, a warm smile on his face.

Christopher checked his wristwatch instead of greeting him back. His lips twisted as he said, "It is almost noon, and you are coming to the office now. You didn't attend the meeting either. What have you been up to?"

"Um…" Eddie scratched his eyebrow. Eddie appeared unfazed by Christopher's attitude and responded calmly, "Well, you see, I've been busy arranging a surprise for Vivian. I am going to announce my and Vivian's engagement at the party, and I want everything to be perfect."

"Okay! Surprise is more important than the meeting, I guess," Christopher said, his tone becoming sharper than before. "Don't you know what has been going on here since the morning?"
