Chapter 5.

She saw a man wearing a black balaclava leaning against the window. The man carries a knife.

"HELP!!"

"Hey! Don't come near me!"

"I like your white skin, gorgeous. You're such a hot woman." The man jumped on her bed. He laughed like a demon.

She ran to the door. She secretly dialed Kanyard's name on her cell phone.

"You will die tonight, baby!"

"No! Fuck you!" She was about to open the door, but he quickly pulled her away.

He punched her in the stomach. And he hit her head against the wall. "You will see your fellow maid in heaven, baby."

"NO!!" She pushed him. She took the flower vase from the table and hit him on the head.

But he didn't seem hurt because he still laughed.

She looked at her cell phone again. Kanyard still did not answer her call. She thinks he is drunk.

The man pulled on her legs. She cried because she seemed hopeless.

He opened the door. He pulled her away.

"HELP ME!! PLEASE!" She shouted.

"Fuck, bitch. They are all asleep."

"How did you know? Are you spying in this mansion for so long? I see, you are an accomplice of the evil man who came in here!"

"Whatever, bitch, I will bury you alive."

"NO!! HEY, EVERYONE! HELP ME!"

Kanyard woke up suddenly. He felt dizzy, so he went out of his room.

He was surprised when he saw a man dragging Caranta away.

"Hey!" He quickly ran to Caranta. He pulled the man by the shirt and punched him in the face.

The man immediately ran away.

"Hey, Caranta, are you okay?" He touched her face.

"Y-yes… Thank you, sir." She quickly hugged him. Tears ran down her cheeks.

"It's okay. You're safe now." He brushed her hair.

She cried loudly. "I don't know what would happen to me without you. Thank you so much!! In my entire life, I have only ever been defended like this."

He pushed her. But she hugged him again, so he suddenly threw up on her clothes.

"Oh… Gosh," She whispered. She touched her shirt.

But he stopped her hands. "Hey, sorry! Sh*t. Hey, don't touch your shirt. Your hands will be dirty."

"Sh*t, I'm sorry!" He took the towel that was on the table. He wiped her shirt. But he accidentally touched her breast. "I'M SORRY! SORRY!"

"Sir, it's okay… It's just an accident. I'm sorry too…"

He turned away.

"Sir… Can you please give me the towel? I will be the one to wipe my shirt."

He brought his face closer to her. "Here. I'm sorry again."

Caranta closed her eyes because, even though his breath smelled of alcohol, it smelled good.

"You're drunk," She stared at his eyes, "go ahead, sir, you can rest. Thank you so much."

"Are you sure?" He took off his black shirt. He gave it to her.

She looked away when she saw his large frame again. "Thanks, sir. But I know that this shirt is so expensive. I can't accept this. Sorry, sir."

"I see. You can get a free towel in the maid's cabinet."

"Yes, sir. Thanks."

"Don't worry, when I go upstairs, I will hire three hundred bodyguards so no one can hurt you."

Her eyes widened, "S-sir… W-what?! Are you kidding?"

"NO."

"But you want to hire too many bodyguards, sir. That's too much. Can you pay them all?"

"Of course, because I'm Kanyard Ventakio."

"You are a billionaire, right? Did you own this village, sir?"

"Yes."

"I-I s-see. But si-"

"I want to rest, Caranta."

"Okay… Sir. When you need something, call me."

8 AM.

Caranta is assisting Kelian while eating at the table.

"Uhm, Caranta, where's Kanyard? Isn't he awake yet?"

"Maybe he's still asleep because he hasn't come out of his room yet, ma'am."

"I see. Thanks. Do you want to eat? Join me here."

"Thanks, ma'am, but I'm a maid."

"OH MY GOD! Why are there so many men wearing black formal suits outside? GOSH!"

Caranta looked outside. She was shocked. She thought that maybe the men outside were hired by Kanyard.

She appreciated him even more.

"Are the men I hired already outside?" Kanyard asked.

Caranta suddenly took a step back. She suddenly felt shy toward him.

Kelian sighed, "Gosh, why did you hire so many men? It's not that I don't like that we have a lot of guards, but they are too many for you to pay."

"Aunt, I can hire a million guards if I want to. I need to protect my people inside my mansion."

"I understand. Thanks for your concern for all of us. But what you will pay for some guard can help every charity, though. Think twice."

"My decision is final."

"Fine, my Kanyard." Kelian walked away.

Caranta was about to put away the dishes. But she noticed that Kanyard was staring at her while he was leaning against the wall.

"Sir, do you need anything?"

"You're safe now. There are three hundred guards outside."

"W-wow… Sir, thank you. I know that the guards are for our safety."

"I can't lose you, Caranta."

Her eyes widened. Her knees trembled. "S-sir?"

"I value every person in this mansion. I'm willing to spend my money for the people in the mansion."

"Thanks, sir. You're so kind."

"Tsk."

"Sir, don't you know how to smile?"

"Why? Is it necessary?"

"Of course, sir! Like this!" She smiled widely. But she stopped smiling when she saw his blank face.

"S-sorry, sir."

He looked at his phone. "I want you to buy me these two pairs of shoes at the mall. Don't worry, ten guards will accompany you."

"Okay, sir. Thanks."

At the mall.

Caranta was busy looking at every pair of shoes in the expensive shop. But some familiar faces caught her attention—a group of men. She asked the guards with her not to follow her because she would go to the comfort room.

She followed the group of men to a VIP restaurant. She heard in their conversation that no matter what happens, she has to marry a mafia boss.

She backed away. She ran back to the shop. Those men were the men of her billionaire father, the Mafia Emperor.

She trembled again with fear. She knows that her father is the most brutal mafia emperor in the world.

Kanyard suddenly entered her mind.
