Chapter 31

"Daniel, I'm talking to you, or have you gone deaf?" Cynthia asked Daniel angrily but he paid deaf ears to her screaming as he kept arranging his clothes inside his suitcase without minding his mother who was screaming at him on top of her voice.

"Daniel I'm your mother and when I talk to you you answer me" Cynthia said angrily to Daniel while shoving the clothes he was putting into the suitcase of his hand.

Immediately Daniel looked at her angrily before picking the cloth from the floor.

"Mum, what's your problem?, can't I have peace in your presence?." Daniel asked his mother angrily.

"Don't worry, as you can see I'm already leaving, at least no one will always be comparing me to anyone, Jerry this Jerry that." Daniel said angrily while arranging his clothes into the suitcase.

"So you are leaving me right?You are tired of your mum who has always been there for you despite what?" Cynthia asked Daniel while feigning to be crying and immediately Daniel dropped the clothes he was holding and approached his mother.

"Who told you that I'm leaving you?" Daniel asked his mother while holding her hands.

"You know that I can never leave you, but I have been fired from the company and I can't stay here anymore, I can't bear facing Dad and Jerry everyday." Daniel said to his mother.

"I understand son and where are you moving to" Cynthia asked Daniel.

"I have rented an apartment somewhere." Daniel said to his mother.

"And how are you going to be taking care of your expenses even paying for the apartment?" Cynthia asked Daniel.

"Well I'm planning on opening my own company" Daniel said to his mother.

"With the money you stole from the company right?" Cynthia asked Daniel who turned his gaze away without replying.

"Daniel I thought you well, it's true I wasn't a good example but I never thought you would take what that doesn't belong to you." Cynthia said to Daniel who was still avoiding her gaze.

"Mom, what has happened has happened and I hope you won't judge me." Daniel said to his mother while zipping the suitcase.

After zipping the suitcase he approached his mother and hugged her.

"I will miss you son." Cynthia said to Daniel with a moody tone.

"I will miss you too mum but don't worry I will frequently visit you and I will also send you the address of my apartment, you can come and visit me anytime you want." Daniel said to his mother who nodded in agreement and immediately tears started dropping from her eyes.

"Come-on mum, stop crying, you are making me feel bad. It's not as if I'm leaving the country." Daniel said to his mother while cleaning the tears on her face.

Afterwards Cynthia followed Daniel to the garage where his car was parked.

After hugging her for some moments Daniel entered his car and zoomed off.

Cynthia stood there waving at him with tears streaming down her face until the car was out of sight.

After arranging his belongings in the new apartment Daniel drove to the address that Chris had sent him.

When he got there he called Chris and informed him that he was already there.

After some minutes Chris came and fetched him and led him to the warehouse where the weapons that arrived were kept.

When Daniel saw the different types of weapons that the guards that were watching over the warehouse were holding immediately his heart started beating.

"Hey Bro is everything alright?" Chris asked Daniel as they were heading towards where the weapons were parked.

"Yes Bro everything is okay" Daniel said to Chris while faking a smile.

"So Bro how does it feel to be in police custody?" Chris asked Daniel who eyed him without replying.

"Come-on Bro I have never been there before, that's why I'm asking." Chris insisted.

"I don't want to talk about it" Daniel said to Chris angrily and Chris nodded in agreement.

When they got to the room where the arms were parked the guards started opening the ammunition boxes one after the other as Chris kept checking the weapons one after the other.

At a given stage Chris handed one of the rifles to Daniel and immediately he took it his hand started trembling.

When two of the guards noticed how Daniel was trembling when he was given the weapon they smiled mischievously at each other but Chris shook his head in disappointment.

"Bro I have told you many times that you can't do this business if you keep on behaving like a woman." Chris said to Daniel while collecting the rifle from him.

"From today henceforth this is your warehouse, it's true that sometimes I might help you out but don't always count on me because I won't always be present to help you." Chris informed Daniel with a straight face.

"I know that you don't yet know how to use a gun but don't worry, after we're done here I will take you somewhere where and I assure you that in less than a week you won't be afraid of this weapons anymore" Chris said to Daniel while tapping him on the shoulder and immediately Daniel nodded in agreement.

"By the way what's about the business idea I asked you to think about?" Chris asked Daniel.

"Well Bro I'm still thinking about it" Daniel said to Chris.

"Well you should be fast about it because soon you will start earning a huge amount of money and people will want to know your source of income, so you have to have something that you can use as a cover" Chris said to Daniel while inspecting the rest of the weapons and Daniel nodded in agreement.

As Chris was inspecting the weapons in each ammunition box his phone started ringing.

Without hesitating he brought it out and once he saw the caller ID he excused himself in order to take the call.

"Hello Chris, how are you?" The caller asked from the other end.

"Hello Jeff I'm not fine, what is taking you so long" Chris asked angrily across the phone.

"Come on Chris chill, I have some unfinished business to take care of that's why I haven't done yours yet. But I'm free now, I will take care of your mission as soon as possible." Jeff said to Chris from the other end.

"Well you better hurry up if not I will look for someone else to do it" Chris said angrily to Jeff across the phone before hanging up the call.

After hanging up the call Chris breathed in and out in order to calm his nerves before returning to where Daniel and the other guards were.
