Chapter 26: The Plan
ARES’S POV
I didn’t like being forced into a corner, especially one that I hadn’t willingly put myself in. I took accountability for the decisions I made that put me in sticky situations, but this was not my fault. I had made it clear on several occasions that I didn’t want Christina for anything other than as my fake girlfriend.
There were a few occasions in which we had meaningless sex on drunken nights, but when she started asking for more, I ended those nights. Christina was a heavily attractive woman, and any man would be lucky to have her, that man just wasn’t me. She was too clingy and possessive for me, not to mention she had one of the nastiest attitudes that I had ever come across in my twenty-eight years.
Since we stopped having sex and completely turned our fake relationship into a business deal, I had assumed that everything was fine between the two of us. She had given me my space and we never questioned the other about what we did in private.
