ARES’S POV
My mind was racing, and my heart was thundering. A date. She had taken the initiative and asked me to hang out with her, whatever that meant. I was honest with her; I didn’t find much joy outside of work. Work was where I felt most productive and where I was in control. I never felt out of place when I was working.
I stopped at the door outside of the address that she had given me. The house was two stories and cozy enough for a small family. Was this her house with Timothy? Did she live here alone? The Williams Estate was much larger, I had seen pictures of it but this house… I hadn’t seen this in a single photograph.
“So, this is it?” I asked.
Leilani looked at the house and then back to me. Throughout the car she had pulled my jacket onto her arms, the soft curls of her hair cascading over her shoulders covering the shoulders of the suit jacket. She was a vision wearing my jacket; everything about her I wanted.
