Madeline, shocked by what he said, stood rooted to the ground. "What do you mean?" Madeline narrowed her eyes. She didn't expect that her son, whom she had raised for so many years, would actually say such a thing.
"Nothing." Jay's smile didn't reach the bottom of his eyes.
"Jay, your father and I raised you. Are you abandoning us now because of a woman?" Madeline's voice was a little shaky. This ending really wasn't what she wanted to see.
"I didn't abandon you. I can only say that I have decided to live with Maisy and her son." Jay kept smiling as he spoke, but his words were ruthless. "I'm grateful that you have worked hard to raise me. After all, I'm not sensible. It must not have been easy. So, I don't need to trouble you in the future. I will take good care of myself and Maisy. You don't need to worry."
Madeline saw the coldness in Jay's eyes and felt her heart turn cold.
