Chapter 210
Myrah's POV
I had just too many ifs and regrets at the moment. Would things have been the same if I hadn't met Melvin that day in Brazil? What if I'd handled him on my own, without endangering the lives of others? What if, instead, I'd given him up to the police?
"Myrah, don't hold yourself responsible for what is occurring. Speaking up was the correct thing for you to do. Perhaps a more serious incident could have occurred."
"But, Dad, this is all about me. I was the first to do all of this. He's such a good hypocrite. When I met him in Rio, he seemed cool and pleasant. Before I knew it, he had become a monster, and he did it with great shame."
"Myrah, maybe this isn't all about you. It's possible that you're lacking some puzzle parts."
I felt irritated. I was never able to solve this whole riddle. It was conspiracy after conspiracy, assumption after assumption. When was I expected to live a happy life and find peace?
