It was unexpected

I let out a deep breath, "How I wish... Life was this peaceful and calming. How I wish... I could fly freely like birds do. How I wish... I am living a peaceful life. How I wish someone could fill the emptiness that I felt inside me. "

I was about to go out when suddenly I felt dizzy. I was holding my head as the dizziness dominated me. What is happening to me? I succeeded in opening the door, but when I took a step, I suddenly collapsed, and the last thing I saw was Laurence. He ran towards me as I fell to the ground.

When I woke up, I immediately saw the white light above me. I was weak earlier, but I think I am better now. I woke up and was surprised to see Laurence sitting next to my bed looking at me.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yes. What happened to me?"

"You collapsed."

"So, what's the problem with me?" I asked him, but he stared down at his shoes.

"Sir? What is it?"

"You... You're pregnant," my world stopped when I heard that thing. What? Me? Pregnant? How can that be possible? I don't even know when I ...

I looked at him, "Are you sure about it?" he just nodded his head when he looked at me. This is the most absurd thing that I have heard right now. Why? And... How?

I was still in deep thought when the door opened, and there I saw Noah. I got more confused, but later on, I remembered that he used to call me his wife. Is he... the father of my baby? My hands were on my belly, rubbing it gently.

"Abi? How are you feeling?" he asked me, and I was stunned while looking at him.

"Sir?"

"I called him here to fetch you. He knew who you were, Loren. I mean... Abigail," Laurence uttered that name. I felt like my heart was breaking apart when he called me that. Did this mean... I had to go back with Sir Noah? I looked at Noah, and it seemed like he was so pleased to see me again.

"Thank you, Laurence," Noah said, and they both shook their hands before Laurence left the room. My eyes were still on him until he went out. A deep sigh came out of my mouth while thinking about him. I don't know how to repay him. I don't know how to... forget about him.

"Abi... Thank goodness you're fine," he said as he embraced me. My hands were still on my side, as I was not going to hug him back. What is he's lying? What if... He didn't really know who I was? When he released me, he looked at me, but suddenly... He kissed me on my forehead, causing my eyes to widen at what he had done.

When he looked at me again, my eyes were still widened. "Abigail? Are you okay?"

"I felt a bit awkward," I answered him, and I noticed how he distanced himself from me.

He cleared his throat, "I heard you're pregnant?"

"Ah, yes."

"Your wish has come true, honey. That would be our first child," he stated, and I looked at him, seeing how happy and broad his smile was. I looked at my belly, and I could feel a little bit of happiness inside me. Is he really my husband? And, the father of this baby?

"Noah?"

"Hmm?"

"What was our life back then?" I asked him, and it seemed like it wasn't happy at all. I could see how his expression changed when I asked him that. I was looking at him when he looked at me. "So, what was it? Are we happily married?" He remained silent for quite some time. "Ah, I see. I guess we're not," I stated, but he started to speak.

"It's not like that. The thing is... I will explain to you when we arrive home," he said as he patted my head with a smile on his lips. My eyes were fixed on him by that moment. I could feel time go in slow-mo motion. I could feel that he was really telling me the truth, but... Why did I have this feeling that I was going to get hurt if I loved him? What is it?

We were already inside his car. I looked around, and I kinda felt that I was here for the very first time around. "By the way..."

"Yes?"

"Have I ridden this car before?" I asked him.

"No. You don't," he answered, and I got more suspicious about him. I nodded my head, but my eyes were still roaming around. How can I not ride this car? I am his wife, right? Or am I not?

It was an hour's drive when we arrived at a huge house in front of the car, where he parked it. I went out and looked amazed at how huge the house was. He then opened the gate, and I started to walk inside. As I was taking a step, I couldn't remember taking a step there. It seems new to me. All of this was so new to me.

When he opened the main door, my eyes started to roam around the place. It was a beautiful and huge house indeed. It was so luxurious, and I think he really is so rich. I was looking around when he suddenly spoke, "Up there..." I looked at him with a frown.

"What?"

"Up there. Our room," he added, and I nodded my head at him. I was still feeling a bit of awkward when I was around him. Maybe, I don't have any memories with him, and he's a total stranger to me right now.

Later that night, we were inside the bedroom, but I was kinda a bit of awkward. I felt like I was sleeping with a stranger. I don't know him yet, and am I going to sleep with him? This can't be.

He looked at me, "What is it? What's the matter?"

"Are we going to sleep together in one bed?" he nodded his head.

"Ah.. Then, can I sleep on the couch?" he seemed confused about what I had just said. He was still looking at me. I was about to get a blanket on the bed, but he got it first. "I can sleep there. If that's making you uncomfortable, then I should sleep on the couch and you can sleep in the bed," he uttered to me, and started to walk towards the couch, fixing the pillow and blanket on it.

I feel so guilty about it. I know how uncomfortable sleeping is on the couch, and it can give him back pain. I went towards the bed, and lay down. I was already in bed, but... my eyes were still on him. Why am I worried about him? I don't want him to get any pain because he had to sleep on the couch because of me.

I cleared my throat, "Ah, Noah?"

"Hmm?" he answered, but he didn't turn his back on me.

"You can sleep in bed. I don't want you to have any pain when you wake up," I uttered, and then he turned his head and looked at me. Damn! Those stares are making my heart flutter. The way he looks at me... I kinda know and felt familiar with it. He then stood and went to bed, but before he lay down, he took a long pillow and placed it in the middle.

"Don't worry. I won't cross the line," he said, and I nodded my head, turning my head away from him. I could feel the tension between us. I don't want to feel this, but... Why? Why do I feel like I am trusting his words? I slowly closed my eyes and then fell asleep. I just want to trust him. I don't want to judge him that easily.

The next morning, I woke up and heard birds chirping. I turned my head to the other side, but it was wrong. I thought he wasn't there anymore, but he was still there. My eyes widened when I saw his sleeping and good-looking face. I was about to turn my head back, but I decided to observe him while he was sleeping. I want to feel familiarity with him by looking at him from this close.

My hands started to lift up and was about to touch his face when he suddenly opened his eyes. I put down my hands and averted my gaze at him, but he spoke, "Good morning, honey," he greeted me, causing me to stiffen at where I was lying. I closed my eyes, but he got up and faced me.

"I saw you were looking at me. Your husband is so good-looking, right?" he boldly asked.

"No. You are not," I answered, and it caused him to frown and narrow his eyes.

"Woah... You're getting bolder and frank too. You never said that to me. You always praise me for being so handsome. I guess you've changed since you lost your memories," he stated, and a sad expression was drawn on his face.

"I'm sorry. I am not aware of what and how I acted before I lost my memories."

"It's okay. I will get used to it too."

"Ah, okay."
