Chapter 21

TWO MONTHS AFTER...

Alayna is preparing for her wedding in two months.

Dominique, of course, intended to marry her before they had children.

Her girlfriends were all there to ensure she had the best wedding ever.

"Oh my God, I'm super excited!" exclaimed Delicia.

Alayna responded, "I'm not!

"What if I can't fit properly in the dress?

"Look at my tummy now!

"Much less then!"

Delicia responded, "We'll work something out!

"Don't worry.

"The last thing we need is you worrying about anything."

Alayna smiled at her, and Delicia opened her arms to embrace her.

Dominique was at work when he called to check on her.

She chatted briefly with him before hanging up.

She approached Delicia, who was seated on the couch, and stated, "I'm craving seafood.

"Let's go to that restaurant and eat!"

"Oh yeah!

"Wherever food is involved, I'm present," Delicia responded.

She burst out laughing.

As Delicia took her to the restaurant, Alayna prepared to depart.

Alayna ordered the seafood when they arrived, and they sat and waited.

While they waited, Delicia asked, "Alayna, do you know your Ex is single?

"He and that crazy chick broke up!

"I heard he went to your place, and the tenants told him you moved.

"He was searching for you.

"He asked the girls when I wasn't around, and they told him you're married."

Alayna laughed and said, "Karma is kicking him in the nuts.

"I don't want any dealings with him, so he can fuck off and enjoy his pain and suffering.

"I'm happy!

"The last thing I need is a so-called Ex fucking my life over again."

Delicia giggled as they were getting ready to eat.

The food was served, and they dug right in.

As they ate, Delicia said, "You know, Alayna, I'm so happy for you!

"You've gone through a lot; I'm the only one aware of that.

"You were ready to give up but found your strength and continued despite losing your parents, being unable to attend school, and getting hurt while caring for your siblings.

"Girl, you deserve this happiness.

"I genuinely admire you.

"I just can't believe how drastically things changed for you!"

Alayna smiled and said, "Thank you for being here with me from the start, Delicia.

"You're my family, and you'll always be."

Delicia responded, "You better not forget me!

"Nah, I'm just playing.

"You know you're my bestie for life."

Alayna smiled as she ate.

They sat and spoke after they had finished eating.

Delicia asked, "So you'll tell the kids that you met their father, had a wild one-night stand, he dipped, and showed up two weeks later?

Alayna laughed and said, "Hey!

"It was my fault!

"He had trust issues.

"I don't blame him!

"You should have seen some crazy bitches he slept with."

Delicia responded, "Girl, he's rich and loves you!

"Who gives a shit who he slept with?

"What matters is you're the one that trapped him, or should I say, his dick trapped you."

Delicia laughed as Alayna rolled her eyes.

"The dick is so good he had to shoot double," Alayna said.

"Hahahahahaha!

"Well, it's good to know he isn't shooting blanks," Delicia responded as she laughed.

Alayna said to her, "He was a real dick at first.

"I won't lie about that.

"But, eventually, he changed.

"I was so scared of getting hurt again,

"I was wrong."

"Awww, you deserve this!

"Don't worry.

"If he plays you, I'm burning his house down.

"I'm not even joking."

Alayna responded, "Yeah, I don't think so.

"I don't want that to happen, at least."

Delicia said, "Yeah, I can see that, but I'm just saying.

"You know how it be.

"But I wish all the years together for you both."

As she called the waiter over to ask for the check, Alayna smiled at her.

After she had paid, they stood up to leave.

They Returned to Dominique's residence.

Delicia said, "Well, we've got two months until your big day, so let's focus on getting things prepared.

"Anyway, I'll get going.

"I have to visit Mom, so I'll see you around."

She was given a hug by Alayna, who then led her to the door.

Alayna headed to the living room after she departed.

She was sitting on a couch, thinking about her future.

She said, "This is all happening so fast!

"I swear this feels like a movie.

"I'm so happy I met him even if it had to be like that, which I also don't regret.

"After all, I get to be happy.

"It's all I want."

She sighed and stood up to go up the stairs to her room.

She went to the bathroom and showered.

After showering she exited the shower and stepped in front of the mirror to admire her baby bump.

She said, "I didn't even see myself becoming a mom!"

She went back to her room and went to bed after looking for something to wear and getting dressed.

She relaxed and thought about everything until she fell asleep.
