Spill the Tea

The two girls made their way to a restaurant nearby. It wasn't crowded nor was it empty. Crowds make eating and conversing difficult. While empty ... usually means something isn't right with the food or shop.

Ying Yue chose a window seat, they could view the whole restaurant from their seats and also see outside the window. Feng Mian chose to eat a nice tender steak while Ying Yue listened to her stomach's craving and settled for some noodles.

"Alright girl, you've got tea. Now it's time to spill it," Feng Mian declared after the waiter left to place their order. She leaned back into her chair whilst crossing her arms over her chest, making her cleavage more visible and crossing a leg over the other. "Well???" Feng Mian raised a brow as she waited for Ying Yue to speak.

"The common saying is 'spill the beans' not 'spill the tea','" Ying Yue pointed out as she twiddled with her fingers.

"Oh po-ta-to, po-tah-to, no one cares," Feng Mian waved a hand dismissively, "it's all the same, just spill the damn thing"

"I have no idea what you're asking me to spill," Ying Yue smiled innocently as she twirled her hair with her fingers.

"Feng Yu?" Feng Mian suggested and instantly the smile left Ying Yue's face.

"You know I still haven't forgiven you for leaving me with him right?"

"He would have found a way to meet you, either way, I saved him the effort and saved you from his continuous meddling. Which by the way, you're welcome"

"I'm not thankful"

"In the future, you will thank me" Feng Mian smirked while resting her head on her hand.

"Yeah? Well I don't see that happening anytime soon"

"Like I said in the future" Feng Mian uncrossed her legs and scooted forward in her seat, resting her head on her palms. "So spill," her eyes danced with excitement, eager to hear what happened between the two lovers after she left.

"Nothing interesting happened ok? We didn't get back together," Ying Yue sighed as she looked out the window dejectedly.

"WHY?" Feng Mian screeched in surprise causing the other people in the restaurant to turn and stare at her. "what? mind your own business!" Feng Mian seethed at them as she felt their stares. Ying Yue could only bury her head in her hands, hoping no one recognised them.

"Why?" Feng Mian asked one she turned back round to face Ying Yue.

"Did you hope we would get back together?"

"No, I didn't."

"Then why-"

"But didn't you?" Ying Yue fell silent, looking out the window at the people passing by. Feng Mian continued, desperate to get an answer so she would know which path to follow when helping her friend. "Didn't you once wish to be together again? Didn't you once beg for him to take you back? Why it is that once he's here you deny him entry?"

"It's no longer the same," Ying Yue whispered before turning to look her friend in the eye. "I waited 5 years for him to turn up....spending countless nights wishing upon the first star, praying for him to appear and take me back. He didn't even need to apologise, he just needed to appear and I would be willing to drop everything and just leave with him."

"But he didn't come, my heart slowly turned cold. Unfeeling and not beating. I had to come to him even though I wasn't the one in the wrong. He didn't even try searching for me. Everyone in the whole world with a TV knows about me and my achievements. Yet he, the youngest billionaire in Asia doesn't know. Makes me wonder if he even cares"

"Ying Yue..." Feng Mian reached across the table to place her hand on top of Ying Yue's in comfort.

"I'll be honest with you, my heart did beat very fast when I first saw him at the business party last night, but that was it. He looks the same as 5 years ago ... but I can't help but feel that he's different from the him in my memories".

"Then what now?"

"We part and live our lives as strangers. Just someone who we used to know"
