Not Long
"Ying Yue, you're back~" Feng Mian chirped happily when she saw who walked into her office. Dropping her pen she got up from her chair and practically flew over to where Ying Yue was.
"mhm" Ying Yue gave a half-hearted reply.
"Ying Yue? What's wrong? Did Feng Yu hurt you again?" Feng Mian easily detected that there was something wrong with Ying Yue's mood.
"No ... yes ... I don't know anymore. My mind is saying something, my heart says another. I'm honestly just tired of everything. If only time travel has been invented already" Ying Yue sighed as she dejectedly flopped down onto the sofa by the wall. It is at times like these where she thinks that the scientists in the world are truly lacking in ability, time travel has been a thing for years but prototypes haven't even been made yet.
"Ying Yue... I'm not going to tell you to follow your heart, nor will I tell you whether to allow or not allow Feng Yu back into your life, but your decision won't just affect the rest of your life but also that person back in Ying country. That person is getting older ... it will no longer be easy to hide and keep him at bay" Feng Mian said as she walked closer to her friend while passing over a cup of water.
Ying Yue sat up and thanked her for the cup of water before taking small sips from it, looking out the window, gazing at the clouds as they floated across the sky freely. If only her life was simple as that.
"Feng Mian, did you know... that in the past I hated that person?"
Feng Mian was stunned, "H-how can you hate-"
"It will always be a constant reminder of what I had to go through 5 years ago, the only thing he left me with... I hated it with all my soul, I want to-" Ying Yue felt choked up speaking about those matters back then.
Feng Mian sat down beside her, wrapping her arms around her shoulders and pulling her in close, "I couldn't do it though." Ying Yue continued as she wept. Feng Mian just kept silent and gave comforting pats on her back until she calmed down enough.
"Sorry, I know I came to help you and stuff but you've been the one who's helping me since I arrived" Ying Yue smiled sadly as she dried her face from her tears.
"Haha, it's fine. You can always just stay in China longer" Feng Mian laughed happily but her smile dropped when her friend beside her didn't reply. She turned and grabbed Ying Yue's shoulders to make look her dead in the eye, "Ying Yue, when are you going back? How long will you stay by my side?"
"Not long, 6 months at most"
Feng Mian felt as if her heart was being torn in two at the thought of her best friend leaving her once again. It was only after Ying Yue came back that her heart felt content again. But now hearing that she was going to go back so soon, what was it if it wasn't just asking her to die?
