Jacob Mackay
The chilly night air blasted Jacob's face as he stepped outside. He had been in a moment with Sutton before she became closed up as usual. His phone had interrupted the moment. Now, Fox was on the other end of the line. He had been the one who called him.
"What is it?" He said into the receiver with a curt voice.
He couldn't hide his irritation at how things had turned out. Everything had been perfect until now. He didn't understand why Sutton always put up walls around him, closing herself against him whenever he made advances. He knew there was something more to it.
"Don't take that tone with me, Mackay. Get over here as fast as you can. We've got news." Fox's reply was brief, and it had set Jacob on edge.
"I'll be there in thirty. Let me bring my family home first."
"I'll be waiting."
