He wondered if his life was his to live or if he was simply a puppet to fulfil his father's desires. It was the latter. This morning, while enjoying a hot cup of coffee in his apartment's living room, his father had called. They were to have dinner with the Prices that evening and Jacob was to propose to their daughter on the same night.

His mind kicked into a frenzy. He had almost choked on his coffee, wishing he had time. The situation had gotten extremely overwhelming. He feared he wouldn't be able to pull it off any longer.

But then again, it was the fact that there was no time. The wedding had to be held in less than three weeks. All of this was for his father, for his position, and for the good of the company.

He sucked in a breath as he remembered the little scary detail about how he had never actually met his soon-to-be bride. It made him wary.
