The Billionaire's Cursed Heiress

Zara Hansley had always believed herself forsaken by the gods due to the terminal illness she was diagnosed with. Every doctor she visited had declared she would not live past her 23rd birthday. Yet, when left with only a few months to live, Zara found out that the root of her illness was a curse, one which she could break. Just like that, she was given a new chance at life—she had to scour the earth for the cure in just a few short months or succumb to her fate. Fate, however, was a funny thing—it brought her to a stranger that would alter the course of her life forever, and his life by her. Born to an ancient family, Amir Frostcrown was cursed to bring misfortune to any female around him. Not only that, he was able to hear the thoughts of others, thus further drawing a line between him and other ordinary folk. As such, while these abilities amassed him an enormous wealth over the years, he was destined to live a loveless life of solitude. That all changed when his and Zara’s paths crossed. As someone that was completely unaffected by his curses and abilities, Amir Frostcrown was immediately intrigued by this dying girl. One dream, one vow, and two curses. That was all it took for Zara to tumble from the world of reality into fantasy. Would she be able to find her cure in time? When secrets are revealed, would Zara and Amir Frostcrown stand the test of time? *** “We were fated to be from the beginning!” he amusedly declared as he looked at her dotingly, eyes sparkling and only her image visible in his blue eyes. “I don’t believe in fate!” Zara mumbled softly as she looked to the ground, afraid of facing him and the undeniable truth he spoke of. “But don’t you see?” Amir asked. “Isn’t fate what led us to this very moment?”

CHAPTER 20: FAMILY MEETING

Kuville City

Uncle Sam watched helplessly as one car after another drove into the mansion.

It wasn't a scene that was normally seen at the mansion. After all, everyone was simply so busy and barely had time to gather together.

However, for a big and rich family like the Hansley's everyone would gather on special occasions, like birthdays, New Year and memorial services.

There were no such thing as normal family dinners unless the patriarch called for a meeting.

It was at the beginning of May and already a family meeting had been called for.

Even he, a servant of the family, knew the meeting's agenda and just thinking about it, a headache was already assaulting him.

As he watched the cars keep on coming like that, he just prayed for peace to rein on this wonderful day. After all, he was looking forward to what the fifth Miss would be doing on her livestream later that day.

"Dear, what are you thinking about?" as he was lost in thoughts, a familiar female voice sounded from behind.

When he heard that voice, a smile couldn't help but blossom on his face.

Without further ado, he turned around to face the woman who had just asked her a question.

"I am thinking about the chaos later. When did you arrive?" he couldn't help but ask dotingly as he looked at her.

"Hehe, a while ago, but you were busy with something in the mansion," the woman replied as she patted his shoulder affectionately.

Uncle Sam chuckled softly as he took the woman's hands in his.

"Wife, what do you think will happen today?" he asked curiously as he started walking while holding her hands.

The woman, who happened to be Uncle Sam's wife, followed her husband and replied on the way. "With this family, it's hard to discern. Let's just keep an eye out. As long as the fifth Miss doesn't get to hear their quarrels, then there is nothing to worry about."

When Uncle Sam heard that, he couldn't help but feel bitter. He had served the family for nearly four decades. He was in his twenties when he joined the family. He was serving the family when he met his beautiful wife Nancy, who at that time was working elsewhere.

In the four decades that he and Nancy got married and gave birth to two wonderful children. As they were both working tirelessly, having more children was only a hassle and one that they didn't want to deal with.

They gave birth to two sons, who were both married and working dutifully for their families.

It was two decades ago when his wife, Nancy, finally joined the family. And it's been around fifteen years since she took the position of the housekeeper officially.

As for him, he had been the family's butler for thirty years. The previous butler trained him well and now it could be said that he was like a sword slave who would carry the sword, slay his master's enemy and still die for him if needed.

His loyalty was first to the Hansley's before his own family. If it weren't for them, everything that he had now wouldn't be there.

However, one thing that worried him was the sickly princess. She was one of the taboo topics in the mansion. But now, after nearly fifteen years, the whole family would be having a meeting and it was all because of one person.

What was even hilarious was how one of the Master's ex-wives was even joining the family meeting. Fortunately, the mistresses weren't coming, otherwise a blood battle would occur.

Inside the mansion, sitting in the mansion's conference room, which was a room where all family meetings were held since it was huge, were Cade and Lena, who were busy whispering to each other as they waited for everyone to arrive.

While the two were busy doing that, outside the mansion, those that had come inevitably came across each other, so they were left with no choice but to enter the mansion together.

With seven children born from different mothers, the children didn't like each other that much. And that was more in the case of Cade's illegitimate children he had with his mistresses.

The thought of their mother wrecking their parents' marriage, the children didn't like them at all. However, their hatred for each other would be set to the side when it comes to Zara. She was the only child who received their father's love.

They didn't lack resources. Their father was very generous in terms of money and supporting their dreams. Even the illegitimate children earned their share from him. Some of them were even working for the family business. That's how much Cade cared for his children.

And yet the sickly and dying daughter received the one thing that all of them wanted but couldn't receive. How could they like her?

"Hehe, it's good to see the ever-busy first brother of ours. I thought that you would be held up in that magnificent office managing the family business!" a mocking snide was made by a young woman who was wearing a yellow bodycon dress that accentuated her feminine figure to the fullest.

And that snide was directed at a handsome man who was tall and had amazing brown eyes that just looked the same as the young woman who had just spoken earlier.

He wore a neat black suit that was plastered on his body as if he was born wearing it. Without removing the suit, one would already see or know that his body was well-built. He looked like a man who knew how to take care of himself as well.

"Tsk, tsk. Running rampant and talking nonsense despite being a homewrecker's child! If I were you, I would feel embarrassed and avoid being seen in public!" another young woman dressed in a red suit, making her look very fiery and feisty, responded to the yellow-dressed woman with disdain written all over her face.

When the yellow-dressed woman heard that, she looked furiously at the red-dressed one as her chest heaved up and down, showcasing that ample chest of hers that she was very proud of.

"Raize Hansley! How dare you say something like that to me?"

Raize scoffed as she looked at the hilarious sibling of hers. She hated admitting their relationship in public. Just looking at her, she just didn't know how to even address her. Even until now, she felt complicated just looking at her.

"Ashely, among all of us, you should be the one that knows your place. Don't make us remind you of a few things that you want forgotten!" Raize growled threateningly as she gave Ashely a deadly glare before elegantly entering the mansion.

Ashely stood there baffled as she looked at Raize, one of her siblings she was envious of and yet unable to compete.

"You are hateful!" Ashely gritted her teeth as she looked at Raize's back hatefully.
