1. My life sucks

Today was the worst day of my life. Notonly was I running late for work. I was making the CEO of our company wait one me. The big scary CEO that everyone feared. As the taxi slowlycomes in-front of the company. Myhands were sweaty. My heart raced a little faster than normal. Jojo, what in the world did you get yourself into. Ithought to myself as I rushed past my co workers, who undoubtedly were talking behind my back. The elevator doors closed slowly. I leaned my back against the wall and looked up at the mirror. My deep grey eyes stared back at me. My deep red hair in a tight military bun. My complexion has always been pale, my friends joked around that i looked like a ghost. My western appearance did cause problems sometimes but for the most part, it was fine. The elevator slowly came to a stop and the doors slowly open. As I made my way out of the elevator i felt someone to bump into me. Spilling a hot susbstance on my arms but i quickly turned around as the cup of coffee fell onto the small of my back. its hot substanced burned my back but the documents were safe. The small girl looked shocked. She was maybe 6 or 7. I bent down and quickly pulled out tissue examing the small girl for burns. Hey its okay, sweetie, it was just a accident. I said quietly still looking at the small girl. Her eyes remained on the now empty cup of coffee that was now at our feet, spilled. Her eyes began to water. Hey its okay its just coffee. how about I buy you another one and something you want from the cafeteria. I tell her sweetly. I watched her eyes gleem with hope and she shook her head and grabbed my hand leading me to the Cafeteria. The Ceo was gonna kill me but hey I was already running late whats 5 more minutes. The small girl held tightly onto my hand as she pointed to the coffee and three blueberry muffins and a small strawberry milk. We carried the stuff back to offices. As I prepared to say goodbye to small girl. A voice boomed behind me. Your late, Joanna. I turned to see the Ceo staring down at me. His gaze was terrifying, it remind me of a lion stalking it prey or worse a demon trying to steal your soul. I know I am sorry, I had car trouble. I quickly replied gathering my thing as I turned to say goodbye the little girl was gone. Her parents probably worked here, I would try to find her later. as I followed the Ceo into his office he glared down at me. Apparently your car problem was not the only problem you encountered today. He said coldly gesturing to my coffee stained blouse. Someone spilled there coffee on me, it was a accident. I replied quietly. As I began to remove the files. he cleared his throat. That wont be neccessary, as of today you no longer work here. he said coldly glaring at me. wh...at? I stuttered out. Your Fired. He yelled at me, slamming his fist into the desk. I did not flinch instead I calmy stood up the file still in my hand. What gives you the right to yell at me. I calmly replied. His eyes flickered to mine, he had not expected a challenge from me. He was about to reply to me when I stopped him. I held up my hand and glared down at him. You will not fire me, because i quit, I refuse to work for a entitled, rude, and self centered prick like you. I replied with vemon dripping through my voice. I threw the file into the trash and walked to the door. as my hand reached the door. A force threw me back into the Ceo. A loud series of bangs reached my ears as I leaned up. everything was a mess, fire was all around us. I looked over the ceo, he was unconscious. He didnt look so tough when he was unconscious. he was actually kinda handsome. Jet black hair and brown eyes that looked like gold. His tan skin highlights all of his features. Not even the cut on his forehead and dirt made him less handsome. If anything the rugged look made him more attractive. I couldn't leave him here. So like any good soldier, I didn't leave a man behind. even if he had just fired me. I threw the Ceo over my shoulder. I made my way to the door and looked around. The small girl looked at me with big tears going down her cheeks. I motioned for her to come over. Each step she took creaked under her footsteps. As she made her way to me I noticed the elevator was completely destroyed. The stairs would be our only escape. The CEO stirred and soon his golden eyes opened. The small girl rushed into his arms. Uncle! she exclaimed as she hugged close to him. His eyes meet hers and with a smile he hugged her back. His gaze found his way to mine through the small girls long black hair. He simply nodded with a smile. The smell of smoke soon filled the air just as quickly as the flames started to reach us. I helped the Ceo to his feet. Let's head to the stairs. I say quietly. As we made our way to the stairs. I heard voices. Ling Ye should be up here along with the girl, we have our order, they don't leave here alive. I turn to look at him and see his jaw locked. I have to get you two out of here, quickly. I whispered quietly. He looked shocked as I turn going through a few desk that were close to us. I quietly gatherd any scissors or anything sharp. as we made our way down the stair. The voice of the men that were after them reached us. I quietly back us in a small closet just in time to see four masked men turn the corner. As they reached the closet, we held our breath. I pulled the scissors out and held them in a defensive postion. They passed us quickly as I was about to open the door. I see a lone intruder with his back to us. He was urinating on the wall in front of him. I held my finger to my lips and gestured of them to stay there. I took off my shoes and quietly snuck up behind him. Just as the man turned around. The scissors I held were at his throat. I pulled him in the small closet and closed the door. Turn around Darling and cover your eyes. I whispered to the little girl. The uncle didnt object.As the little girl turned her back. I plunged the scissors into the mans throat, he died quickly. as I laid him down, I began taking his armor off, along with his weapons. I hand the armor to the Ceo. He quickly puts the armor on. Do you know how to use this? I ask him holding a pistol in my hands. He shakes his head and takes the gun. I turn my attention to the little girl. She had a pink jacket on, black pants, sneaker and a white long sleeved on. I helped her out of the jacket. I took the Scissors out and brought them to the girls long hair. I am sorry. I tell her as i turned and looked Ling Ye. He nodded and with a small whimper from the girl, her long hair was now cut into a boy's hair cut. I rubbed some dirt on her cheeks. and pulled some make up from my bag. I filled in her eyebrows to make them look fuller. Her eyes meet the dead mans body, I pulled her face to look at mine. We can do this. just 3 another floor and out of the door. I reply quickly. I held the little girl as Ling ye followd behind us in full armor. He closed the door. We didnt meet must resistance as we made our way down the other floors but the exits were guarded heavily. 10 or so men stood at the exit. we could see the police and ambulance outside the door. I took a breath and looked at him. 20 or more steps and we could have been free expected as we were about to move. Ling Yee radio went off. Ling Yee killed one of our men, search everyone. a voice said coming from the radio. I quickly pushed him backward into the supply closet. I motioned for him to help move a shelf infront of the door. after we removed the shelf. i climbed on top of the table and looked out the window. Noone was in sight. I quickly broke the glass with my elbow and motioned for Ling Ye was about to protest when the door rattled. We heard yelling as whoever was behind the door began yelling. I grabbed the gun and helped him get out, I was about to hand him the girl when the door slammed opened and 2 armed men stood in front of us. They yelled at me to put the child down and step away. I smiled at the girl and looked over my shoulder. Ling Yee was waiting for her. Goodbye Little one. I tell her pulling her hands away from me. I tossed her out of the window. just as I heard their guns going off. my entire side felt like it was on fire. As I dropped to my knees, I closed my eyes. I heard gunshots go off but none hit me. I open my eyes to see Ling Ye's standing above me with their weapons drawn. The soliders laid dead before me. As I started to collapse I see Ling Ye and the little girl running towards me. Everything went black after that.
