The Bestiary

Angela gives a sigh of relief while reading the notifications. Assuming each mouse gives five anima that means Angela would only need to kill 3 more mice to assimilate the island, though she shudders at the thought; hopefully she would be able to deal with them in the same way as the first to avoid the sight of blood.

In the meantime the new bestiary function sounded interesting, Angela opens it up and a window divided into several sections pops up. The bestiary was categorised in two layers, the first layer was by beast type and the second was by beast rank. Currently the only entry is the demon mouse and Angela selects it without hesitation. The window changes to a page with a description of the mouse along with a 3D model and.... a cost?

[Rank one demon mouse: this small critter is often referred to as the bane of cultivator housewives.

With its razor sharp teeth and incredible jaw strength the demon mouse can bite through flesh like butter however it poses little danger to the strengthened bodies of novice rank cultivators.

Though not inherently aggressive, demon mice are extremely territorial and will fight to the death to defend its nest.

The cost was confusing to Angela, presumably it creates a demon mouse but she has no way of telling if the mouse would be the same as the ones attacking her and if it would be aggressive or not. Either way 25 anima was a far way off.

Angela sits and waits for the next mouse, standing back up just before the notification for the hour passing pops up. [+0.5 anima, total anima:6.5/100]. Another mouse dashes out, similar to the first one and Angela tries to kick it in the same way as the last one. This time, however, the mouse is more cautious and dodges it, darting to the other leg and savagely biting down.

Crying out both in pain and in horror, Angela stabs downwards with the knife and impales the mouse. The knife goes through the mouse surprisingly easy, too easy. Angela had expected the mouse's body to give much more resistance and as such she used her full force. The knife tears through the mouse and continues going, plunging deep into Angela's thigh.

Crying out in agony, Angela see's a new notification; blurry from the tears of pain.
