Beatrice's POV.
"So how did you say know Bell?"
Lucas twists in the passenger seat of the SUV to look back at me. Myra navigates New York traffic with only a handful of expletives. Lucas had offered to drive, but only got a glare in return. Sebastian and I sit in the middle row and in the back are Lydia and Gigi.
"I didn't," I say.
There's a lull as the whole car waits for me to elaborate. Even Myra looks at me via the rearview mirror.
Sebastian's tone is lower and gentler. "Beatrice, together, remember?"
He tugs my hand out of my lap and holds it between his own. I swallow. I'd been honest when I told him I wasn't used to the with someone part of sex, but equally true is I'm not used to the with someone part of life. And now I've got these people who I admire and care about willing to stay by my side despite the certainty of another huntress and duties to fulfill elsewhere.
