The head of the Royal Guard, Luther, was a serious and quiet guy. It was rumored that he was a true powerhouse, handpicked and moved up the ranks by the Queen herself from a distant outpost. His loyalty was to the royal family, especially to the Queen. If he hadn't shown up out of the blue, no one would have known that the Earl had met a terrible fate in his bedroom.

Luther was standing in the fancy bedroom, which was now stained with blood and marked by the grim leftovers of the crime. He nudged a rolling energy stone with his foot, and a look of disgust crossed his face. "What an idiot, an A-tier alpha couldn't even set off the alarm before getting killed, he thought."

An officer walked in, snapped a salute, and reported the details, "This was done by an old hand. They used the Earl's own terminal to erase all video and shut down most of the security system. Their moves were clean, we probably can't get any data back. We won't know who they are or how they got in."
