"I need doctors, magicians, and anyone necessary that can help!" ordered Damien.
The situation at the second manor was chaotic. Every servant was running around. The head butler of the second manor sent a messenger to call for the family doctor immediately. Fortunately, the family doctor lived in the same town as the Gregory Family. So she could arrive in a short time.
The doctor in dark hair and white coat with a bag of medical tools arrived at the second manor. She rode a horse by herself to come to the estate, as she thought it would be faster than riding a carriage.
"I am here!" The doctor just waved her hands as her eyes met Damien's.
"HURRY!" shouted Damien through a window from the second floor.
"Yeah! Yeah! I'm walking, not crawling!" mumbled the doctor.
One maid assisted her to Grace's room on the second floor. As she walked into the room, she saw Grace was lying on the bed, sweating.
Damien had this anxious look in his eyes. "Look, I know you are busy but please… "
"Save it. I know my job." The doctor hushed him.
The doctor touched Grace's forehead with the back of her hand. She used her stethoscope to hear Grace's heartbeat, and it was normal. She gently pinched the skin of the back of the little girl's hand, then watched and observed the skin. The skin moved slowly. The doctor also saw some reddish color on her cheeks. She told the maid to wipe off the sweat and bring some cold towels.
The doctor took off Grace's clothes, which were more like a rag, and wiped off her body with the cold towel. She asked for some new and clean cloth and let the maid dress Grace in her pajamas.
Damien was anxiously looking at them from behind.
"It just a fever," the doctor made her diagnosis.
The answer did not please Damien. "Are you sure it is just fever? Not some kind of dangerous illness. It might be cancer! Last time I checked it was super-hot!"
'Who is the doctor right now?' The doctor got annoyed. How could this become cancer?
"Damien, I do not know what is your standard of 'hot'. But it is just a mild fever and dehydration," explained the doctor. "Grace has to drink plenty of fluids when she wakes up, particularly water. I gave the maid paracetamol. Just read the description on the bottle before letting Grace consume it. Oh! And make sure she has plenty of rest and sleep! After she wakes up, tell her to take a bath in cold water. And give her something warm and light to eat. A porridge or soup will do. I think she ate something spoiled before. And don't give her steak! I repeat... no steak! After three days, if her fever is down, you can start giving her heavy food like rice and meat."
"Should I call a magician to come?"
"It is a fever. Not a curse, idiot! After a good rest and eating proper food, Grace would be healthy." The doctor clarified.
"Grace has never been sick before, Evelyn!" argued Damien.
"I believe it was a kind of sudden magic reaction. There are traces of magic around her. But no worries. It is not dangerous," told the doctor named Evelyn.
"What magic?" Damien looked confused. Did Grace got exposed to his mana? His sister was still young, so she should not be attracted or exposed to dark magic or mana because a body of a child could not handle it, unlike the adults.
"It is not my specialty. But I believe it would not bring any infliction to Grace, alright."
Damien lost his words for a second, "Does her body has bruises or scars?"
"Nope! But she just has these light marks on her legs. I think the chain caused it," guessed Evelyn. "Hmm… it seems like whoever abducted little Grace took great care of her."
Damien mocked, "Huh! I doubt that."
Based on those creatures' reactions back in the slave house, Damien believed they did something unbelievably horrible to Grace.
HUH! Just imagining those dead imbeciles' faces on his mind could make him mad!
"Anyway. I am done." Evelyn packed up her stuff back into her bag. "If anything happens, call me like always. But please, if it is not an emergency, I appreciate an earlier reservation for an appointment."
Damien nodded his head.
"How was the war?" asked Evelyn.
"A horror."
Evelyn breathed heavily. She felt like a burden was lifted from her shoulder. "You know how much I appreciate it. Thank you for ending the war and led the knights back safe and sound."
Damien smiled. That was the sincerest thanks he received from another person. It felt much better than receiving thanks from other ignorant nobles or having a ceremony to celebrate his triumph in the war.
Damien and Evelyn grew up together. That was the reason they could speak spontaneously and comfortably with each other, although their social status was different. They lived in the same town. And Evelyn's mother used to be Damien's governess.
After she wrapped everything up, Evelyn went back to her private clinic.

DAMIEN went into his study. He took off his uniforms and left them on the carpet, showing off his attractive abs and muscles. And he made a mess around the room. He felt hot. But his worry and fear were finally gone.
Hmm… yet he felt like he forgot something.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Just get in, Ryan. I know it's you," said Damien. He closed his eyes, trying to get some decent and peaceful sleep on the couch.
Ryan got into the study room in a hurry. "Milord! Do you feel like forgetting something, err… important?"
Damien opened his eyes, "I know you are talking about the vampire."
Ryan coughed nervously. "Milord… you left her in the carriage for hours. Should I tell the maid to prepare a room for her?"
"Not a room. They should prep a cell especially for her. Just make sure it is comfortable enough. She is a guest," ordered Damien.
Hmm! A cell for a guest. So Gregory-style!
"Lady Grace would not be happy."
Damien changed the topic. "Forget about that. Do you find anything about the vampire?"
Ryan sighed. "Still working on it, my Lord."
Damien thought for a moment. 'Still working?' How hard could it be? This vampire was a total mystery.
"If she has anything to do with Bridget, report it to me. As soon as possible."
Ryan heeded the order. And he left the room.
