1 Strange place

I had a minor headache, there was something wrong with me as it seems. I sat down on the sofa to nurse the miseries of the sunny day. I took some painkillers to help with my headache. I went to my room to take a nap for my headache to reduce.

I opened my eyes after what seemed like an hour's rest. I found that the bed I was lying in not just soft but also huge. It felt like a dream to lie on such a big bed. I rolled around the bed never wanting to get up ever again.

I stopped and looked around the strange room. The bed was huge, everything else in the room looked fancy and exquisite. It was as though I was in one of those princess rooms from the fairytale movie. I got up from the bed my curiosity getting the better of me and not being able to stop myself from exploring this beautiful room.

I reach my hand out to touch the jade statue but there was a creak at the door. I turned around and stared at the door waiting to see who comes in. Not one or two but five young men walked into the room.

"Is he the one?" asked the one dressed fancier than the others. The rest of the men nodded their heads as a response to his question.

"Get him ready, the master will see him soon," he instructed before leaving the room.

The other men came closer to me carrying a clean robe and make upon them. They forcefully pinned me to the bed and forced me to put on the clothes. I tried to struggle and get away from them but they were stronger than me hence they overpowered me.

They adorned me in jewelry from my head to toe. They made me stand and looked at me like I was on display, looking pleased they let go of me.

"What are you?" he asked me. The others acted like they were busy tiding the bed but I could tell they were listening to hear my answer. The question felt weird but nothing that has happened so far has made any sense. The strange room, the strange men, and this strange situation.

I looked at the man who questioned me to ask him a few questions myself. It was then that I noticed his features. He had a round face, blue eyes, a sharp nose, and soft lips. But what stood out about him were the horns on his head. That and the hooves that he was using in place of legs.

I glanced over to the other men and all of them have horns and hooves. I suddenly understood why the question about my identity was raised. They look human at first glance but upon a closer look, one can see that they are not human at all.

"What are you?" I asked him, also being curious about who they are. Or what they are?

"We are Arcadians," he said and I was still confused. Arcadians, I have never in my life heard of anyone or anything like that. "And you, What are you?"

"Human."

"Human? I have never heard of any species called 'the humans," he said and looked at the other men in the room. They all agreed with him but the same could be said for me about them. 'Did aliens take over the planet while I was taking a nap?" I asked myself trying to make sense of what is happening.

"Why am I here?"

"The master's men found you in the forest and took you captive. Now you are the master's property. He will decide what happens to you," he said frightened. I don't think that he is a fan of the master and from the looks of things neither are the other men. They all seem to tremble at the mention of his name, if he is a bad person then there is no way that I will survive being a slave to a man like him. 'I must escape.' I doubt that the master has any good plans for me.

The men stand watch in the room making sure that I don't escape. No matter what come may I won't become a slave for the master or any other human-animal creature in this place. I will find a way to escape no matter the cost.

"I need to use the washroom," I say to the man who spoke to me earlier. He looks at me confused, I wonder what is confusing him in what I have said. Don't people go to the bathroom over here?

"What was that?"

"I need to ease myself," I say rephrasing my request.

"Oh, okay. Come with me."

I followed the animal man or whatever he is to the place where he was taking me. I must get out of here before I am taken in front of the master. He might be more dangerous than the demon-looking man leading me right now.

I pick a vase from the stand and hid it behind my back while the man was not looking. I walk behind him patiently waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

He leads me to a huge room at the end of the corridor and is equipped like an ancient washroom I watched on the television. "I will wait outside, be quick," he says and turns to leave. I seize the moment and hit him on the back of the head with all my strength and watch him fall to the ground. I drag his unconscious body into the room and lock the door.

I look around the room to see what I could use to escape this place. The windows are open and I can run away through one of them. The window is high from the ground so jumping down would be suicidal. My eyes search the room helplessly hoping not to get caught before I escape.

"I Landon Farley have never bowed my head to anyone in my life and I won't start by being a slave here."

I forcefully pull the curtains down from the hanger of all the windows in the room. I tie them together into a rope, I tie one end of the curtains to the pole near the window and drop the rest outside. It is not long enough to reach the ground but from its end, it is a jumping distance to reach the ground.

Climbing up the window I hold on to the curtain and slowly descend. My heart is racing in my chest with only one wish, that I don't slip and fall to my death. I grip the curtains tightly and go down.

"Where is he!" I heard a yell coming from the room. In a panic, I accidentally let go of the curtain and fell. I hit the ground with a thud and a cracking sound. I bit my tongue to avoid screaming out in pain and alarming the creatures who live here.

I get up from the ground with much difficulty and the help of a tree branch. My leg is in so much pain and I think that I have broken a bone.

"Find him," I heard an angry voice command.

I ignored the pain in my leg and made a ran for it to get away from this creature and their so-called master. I ran towards the woods.
