Mysterious Disease

At the same time on the eastern side of the Kingdom of Berillan, the group of Theo, Uldor, Gorstag, and Catallina, were already on their way. They received a very important assignment from King Berillan to carry out a secret mission.

The mission they received was to investigate the source of a mysterious disease that had recently spread in several parts of the kingdom. This bad news had already reached the ears of King Berillan, and he wanted to find the root of the problem. There were reports that the town of Blanchill was the starting point of this outbreak. The town was famous for being a city that lived off of fertile livestock.

The plague became even more alarming when the symptoms of the disease were similar to what Theo's entourage encountered on their way to the royal palace. Their skin peeled off until their bones were exposed. The gruesome sight led the kingdom to give the Band of de Sun an investigative mission.

They felt a sense of apprehension. However, what they encountered outside the city surpassed their worries. They were greeted by a horrifying sight; a large number of farm animals lying on the grassland, dead with symptoms of a sinister disease.

The animals looked miserable, their skin peeling off, and their bones visible beneath the almost transparent skin. Some of them still lay dying, while others were already dead with their eyes open in fear.

Theo was transfixed after seeing the condition of this city. "This is a terrible thing."

Uldor looked at the suffering animals with pity. "They are suffering. This is no ordinary plague."

However, as they entered the city, an even bigger surprise awaited them. The plague had spread into the city ruthlessly, infecting its innocent residents. Along the streets of the city, they were greeted by heart-breaking sights.

Impromptu camps had been set up everywhere, serving as treatment centers for people infected with the disease. People looked grim, with pale faces and eyes filled with fear.

Some looked in very bad shape, while others were just trying to hold on with gasping breaths. The sounds of moaning and crying could be heard throughout the city, creating a very tense atmosphere. This plague didn't look at age, or any kind of person.

Catallina was heartbroken to see the condition of the once prosperous city. "This is a disaster," she said in a sad tone.

Theo looked around with concern. "They're all affected."

Gorstag with a feeling of anger. "We must find the cause as soon as possible."

This horrifying sight sparked their desire to investigate further. They knew that this disease had to be stopped before more lives were taken by it, and time was of the essence.

Theo sighed deeply. "This is much worse than I imagined."

Gorstag, who was known for his stern nature, instantly melted after looking around compassionately. "Everyone seems to be suffering so much."

The once lively and bustling town of Blanchill was now a place filled with suffering and destruction. They knew that their task of investigating the source of this outbreak was becoming increasingly urgent, as the lives of many people were at risk.

"Stop! Who are you and what is the purpose of your arrival in Blanchill?"

A shout stopped their horses in front of a military building. They were greeted by a man in his early 20s coming out of the building.

Catallina took out a ring with the royal coat of arms. "I am the princess of the Kingdom of Berillan, Catallina, and these are my loyal companions. We have come to help solve this plague problem at the King's request."

She looked at the ring. "Sorry, princess." She saluted, "Welcome. I am Deputy General Tobias, and I will take you to meet with the leader of our city.

Catallina replied respectfully. "Thank you, deputy general. Show me the way."

They were accompanied by the local deputy general, Tobias, who led them straight to the residence of Lord Elias, the city leader.

They entered the lord's residence and were immediately received by him, who was seated in the center of the room with the loyal General Dorgs standing guard.

Lord Elias stood up and saluted. "Welcome, Princess Catallina and friends. I am Lord Elias, the leader of this city."

Lord Elias was a wise and respected nobleman. He greeted the king's daughter, Catallina, with respect and welcomed Theo and his d friends.

Theo started the conversation, "Lord Elias, we've come to help investigate this mysterious outbreak. Can you tell us what happened in this town from the beginning?"

Lord Elias took a deep breath before answering, "The first incident occurred when a citizen fed his livestock and crossed the city limits into the Okren forest. Two days after that, the livestock began to develop the same illness you see today."

He looked frustrated, holding his head with both hands. "There was a ban on entering the cursed forest."

Theo asked. "Is there something strange about the people who feed the animals?"

General Dorgs replied. "Nothing suspicious, I've already interrogated him."

Catallina thought. "We will find out more about the Okren forest. Can we get permission to investigate the area?" she asked.

Lord Elias nodded. "Of course, my lady. I hope you can find answers to this plague. I am already very frustrated by this."

They had further conversations, after which they rested for the night at the place provided by the city, but they preferred to rent an inn.

They came up with a plan, and they would split the group into two. Theo, Uldor, and Gorstag would begin the investigation into the Okren forest, while Catallina would stay in the city to investigate from the inside.
