A Shopping Trip

Blood everywhere. Blood on the windows with the addition of the shining moon made the room red. The sound of flesh being cut filled my years. The screaming of my parents eventually faded.

I woke up. This time, a different room. The room now looked like a normal high schooler's room with a clean study desk and a closet. It seems the nightmare didn't leave me afterall. Would I have to endure this every night for the rest of my life? As I thought about these things, I heard a knock from my door.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Juni-kun! This is Tochaki. Please wake up, I got something planned for you today!"

Something planned for me? I just moved here yesterday. What could they have planned for me in such a short 2 days since they knew about me? I got dressed up in my school uniform since it's the only type of clothes I own and headed down to the restroom. I brushed my teeth and headed towards the dining hall. Kinai-san was already waiting for me. The breakfast was classic bacon and eggs. Totally western style.

"Hey hey Juni-kun, I got my dad's permission and we can go shopping today!"

"Shopping? Oh, you would like me to accompany you. Of course."

I thought Kinai-san wanted to buy something. She spent the whole day with me yesterday to help me move so it makes sense she wants me to accompany her to help with her shopping. Kinai-san however gave me a slightly pouting expression.

"No not for me you dummy. We are going to buy clothes for you. All you ever own in school uniforms, you need some casual clothes to wear when you don't need to go to school!"

That makes total sense. I looked at my clothes and sure enough, I was wearing a school uniform when there wasn't even school today. How stupid can I be?

"But Kinai-san, I couldn't possibly spend your money after all you have done for me. Wearing a school uniform is already enough of a privilege.

"No Buts! We are going shopping today and that's final!"

It didn't look like anything was going to stop her from buying some clothes for me. I reluctantly agreed and we set off to the big city of Tokyo.

I have always lived outside the cities where there weren't a lot of people. Coming to Tokyo was my first experience with many things, and one thing I already dislike is the huge amount of people that live here. Everywhere I looked there were people and huge buildings. The huge Tokyo tower I was told many times by my parents is now in my sight. I cannot believe it.

"Come on Juni-kun! This way!"

We weaved through the crowd of people until we reached a store that specifically sells men's wear. Where the fuck am I. Why does a single t-shirt sell for more than 5000 yen? There is no way in God's plan I am going to make Kinai-san pay for this!

"Umm Kina–"

"Hey Juni-kun! You should buy this one!"

She was holding a 9000 yen blue colored long sleeve shirt in front of me. I almost fainted when I saw the price.

"Kinai-san, aren't these clothes kinda expensive? Maybe we should go for cheaper options?"

"What do you mean Juni-kun? These are normal prices for shirts. Some expensive brands cost more than 20000 yen."

20k yen? How can a simple shirt sell for 20k yen in some places?

"Oh, I understand…"

"Don't be modest Juni-kun. Buy whichever one you like, father said you deserve some new clothes after seeing you have absolutely 0 clothes other than school uniform."

"I see. Thank you for your kindness."

Remember when I said I thought we were buying things for Kinai-san? Well, it wasn't much different from my original thought. Most clothes I thought would be nice were all rejected by Kinai-san, saying they don't fit me. She made me try on dozens of different types of clothes and we bought, I would say 30000 yen worth of clothes. I felt bad for making her buy clothes for me but it seems like she was enjoying herself buying clothes for me, so I guess it was alright in the end. Seeing her cute smile filled me with calm thoughts.

We stopped near a local coffee shop for some drinks. I ordered a small cold coffee while Kinai-san ordered… I don't even know how to describe it honestly. There were so many different ingredients I haven't heard about it's almost like she was creating something completely new. When our drinks came out, it was pretty obvious which one was mine and which one was hers. We sat down and chatted while we rested in the cool shop.

"Hey hey Juni-kun! How do you think my hair looks today? I spent 15 minutes tying my hair!"

Her hair was a long ponytail that fell all the way down to her waist and some hair pins on it.

"Kinai-san looks beautiful. Did you do it personally for me?"

As soon as I said if she did it personally for me, her whole face turned red. Did I make her embarrassed?

"Ye-ye… Yea! But don't say it out loud. Other people are staring at me!"

I looked around and she was right. There were dozens of people around my age staring at my tutor. I couldn't blame them though. She is one of the two "Princesses" in our school (no offense to other girls).

"Are you embarrassed because other people are staring at you or because of what I said really?"

"Both, but you know Juni-kun… only..one…per…sta…me."

"I'm sorry? It seems the music is very loud in this shop, do you mind speaking a little louder?"

That was a lie. The music was barely audible but I didn't want to make her more embarrassed than how she already is.

"Only one per… can… sta…me…"

"I am sorry Kinai-san, I still cannot hear you. Maybe you can speak a little louder?"

At this point Kinai-san was pouting. Her face was red like a beetroot. She stood up, came next to me and whispered:

"Juni-kun, there is only one person I want to be stared at in this world."

It must be her dad. She loves her dad very much given how much Tokita-san was willing to sacrifice for her daughter. I should apologize for staring at her.

"Oh… I am sorry Kinai-san for staring at you. The only person must be your beloved father… I apologize for my actions."

"You dummy! Huf!"

She was pouting even worse now and turned his head away from mine. Did I mess up that madly? Was it not her dad? I can't imagine it being anyone else. Maybe it's someone from school she has a crush on.

"How hard do I have to try…"

"I am sorry Kinai-san, I will do better next time."

I don't even know what I was apologizing for, but it seemed like something I had to do to make her feel better, but all it did was make her feel worse.
