A Night to Remember

When we got home, we ate dinner and took a shower. If this was my old time, I would immediately fall on my bed and wake up the next day and start my thing; however, now I have a clear goal in mind. I opened my bag and started studying for my next test which happens to be in two days. And…

"I have no clue how this works…"

It wasn't going well. I did not know how to solve a single math question and it was the first question, which is usually the easiest question. I struggled for a while until I heard a knock on my door.

*knock* *knock*

"Yes, please come in."

It was Tochaki-san. She was wearing her nightgown which is just a full piece of clothes covering her from top to bottom. Her long hair is tied up into a bun.

"Studying hard I see, need any of Tochaki-sensei's help!?"

I wasn't really "studying hard" when I was already stuck in the first question and didn't know what to do.

"Uh yea, can you help me with the math homework today?"

"Of course! Let Tochaki-sensei teach you!"

Me and Tochaki-san studied for almost two hours. It was definitely past both of our usual bedtimes and I was actually studying. I never thought it was possible. With Tochaki-san's help, I was able to solve all the math problems for homework. I am kinda proud of myself.

"Thank you today Tocha—"

Ah, it seems she fell asleep. Can I blame her? After all she's been through today with the addition of helping me study, this is bound to happen sooner or later, and I guess it finally happened. She must be exhausted. I should wake her up and send her back to her room.

"Tochaki-san, please wake up, you should get proper sleep in your bed."

"mmhmm. Mmmm."

"Please Tochaki-san, to your room please, I am worried about your health."

"mmm.mmmm… Juni-kun?"

Finally she opened an eye.

"goodnight Juni-ku…"

I can't believe this girl. Doesn't she know not to suddenly fall asleep in someone else's room, especially in a guy's room? I had to bring her back to her room.

"Tochaki-san! Please wake up! We have school tomorrow!"

"mmmm.mmmmmmm"

Nothing I can do, if I can't move her to her room, the least I can do is move her to my bed and sleep somewhere else today. I carried the half asleep Tochaki-san to my bed and covered her in a blanket.

"Sleep tight today, maybe you'll realize where you are tomorrow."

I slowly closed the door and left the room. I was planning on calling Tokita-san for someone's help. I walked towards his room until I saw the bright moon shine through the windows. I was mesmerized by the full moon shining to me. I stopped in my tracks and thought about my life. I finally have a goal to work towards. But the dream still haunts me about that day. Will I ever escape it?

"Contemplating about life I see?"

I turned around and saw Tokita-san in a bathrobe walking towards me. He stood next to me while looking at the same beautiful full moon.

"Yea, that day still haunts me. I just don't know what to do anymore."

"I can understand your feelings. The feeling of losing someone important to you can scar the heart that you shared with this special person. I am sure your parents are nothing but love to you. I am sorry that you lost them at such a young age."

"Please Tokita-san, no need to apologize. It was not your fault that my parents passed."

"Even then, I want you to understand there are other people here that are supporting you in this world. Like my daughter, she has taken a particular liking on you. I am sure you two will be able to support each other when times are needed."

"Please rest your heart. I would do nothing but good towards your daughter. She has been nothing but kind to me ever since I met her,"

"That's good to hear. But just remember, if you need someone to talk to. My daughter is right here for you."

"Thank you Tokita-san."

I can't believe I was blessed to be living with this family. I've always thought that no one would ever support someone like me. I guess I was wrong.

"It seems someone finally showed up and stole my daughters heart…"

"Whats that Tokita-san?"

"Nothing. Don't worry about it."

Tokita-san smiled then moved closer to me and handed me a key. I gave him a confused look.

"You can live in the room two rooms down from your own room today. Don't worry, I already know what happened."

Tokita-san gave me a huge grin on his face and walked back to his room. I wonder how much of what happened in my room he saw.
