A Look into a Small Past

Tochaki-san led me into a mall and went straight to a women's wear store. The store seemed familiar. I thought about when I had come here before until Tochaki-san held out two pieces of dress on my face.

"Remember these?"

The two dresses in front of me, one had a yellow flower pattern while the other one was a pure white color. I knew it seemed familiar. This was the store we went to after the aquarium.

"Oh yea, are you going to buy them?"

"Do you not remember what happened that day?"

"That day?"

If I remember correctly, we first went to the aquarium, then stopped by a ramen shop for lunch. We went to a park to relax and came to this store afterwards. After that a few girls went up to me…

"Are you still upset that I talked to those girls while you were changing clothes?"

"Of course! You have someone right here you can talk to!"

"But Tochaki-san, I didn't see them walking up to me. Even if I did, it would be rude not to respond to their questions."

"Why didn't you wait for me inside the store then?"

"It would be weird for a single boy to stand in a place that sells clothes for women."

"You could've waited outside the changing room. People would just think you were waiting for someone."

"People could have also thought I was a pervert waiting for a girl to change."

She was now lowering her head as if she just did something guilty.

"Dear… but now that the circumstances are different from last time… would you wait for me near the changing room then?"

Indeed the circumstances are different now. Instead of just normal friends like back then, we were now dating. It made sense for me to wait for my significant other to change.

"Of course. But I think whichever one you wear would be beautiful on you."

"But which one do you prefer between the two?"

She again held the two dresses to my face. Looking at it, I thought the pure white color would look really nice in the summer. Plus, it reflects light so you wouldn't be as hot. I pointed at the white dress and Tochaki-san giggled.

"Fufu. Last time you chose the yellow one instead, I wonder what made you change your mind."

"Doesn't that just show you look good in both? If I chose two different dresses at two different times, it shows how difficult it was for me to choose which one would actually suit you better."

"I'll try both and charm you then!"

She ran to the changing room and changed. After a few seconds, she came out with the white dress.

"How do I look?"

My face felt hot but I couldn't look away. She looked really cute and adorable. I have to burn this sight into my memory at all costs.

"Umm dear? You're scaring me…"

I must have not realized that I was staring too intensely. It must have made Tochaki-san worry. I came back into reality finally.

"I'm sorry… you're just so cute that I couldn't look away."

The cute little princess, who was initially smiling, now shows an embarrassing look due to my compliment.

"T-t-th-thanks dear… I want to look cute and pretty for you…"

She was saying such cute things I couldn't resist anymore. I took out my cell phone, opened up the camera app, and took a picture of her acting cute and embarrassing.

"Dear?! Why did you take a picture of me!"

"Uhh… I-... just thought you looked too cute. So I need to save it so I don't lose it…"

"But dear… I can look cute for you whenever you ask…"

I always wonder how anyone could resist her loving charm. She is showing a new bashful side of her the day after I confessed to her. My sanity is being destroyed.

"I'm sorry Tochaki-san, I'll delete it right now."

"No… you don't have to."

She was now fidgeting with her fingers and walked up towards me. She took my phone and turned her back. She fidgeted with my phone for a few seconds and gave my phone back to me. I looked at the screen and apparently she sent the photo to herself.

"Now if you lose your phone, the picture is saved in our chat history so it won't ever be lost."

"But I thought you didn't like the photo."

She was still embarrassed.

"If that photo of me can charm you, then I guess I'll allow it…"

"So I can take more then?"

I joked a little bit but she pouted instead.

"You dummy… but if that makes you happy…"

She made another cute look while looking at my phone camera. Needless to say, I took around 50 different photos today…
