THE BARREL OF DARKNESS

The sun is not rising. My desolation is born. The moon does not shine through the darkness. A pair of green eyes shine in my darkness and burn my heart to ashes. I didn't know love was so painful before I met you. Tell me, will the sun rise for both of us one day? Will the sun rise in both of us one day? Tell me, who am I? Am I the victim? Or am I the murderer? The sun is not rising, Soldier. And I'm afraid of the dark. But I promise you that one day I will pierce this darkness with the burning bodies of those who destroyed me. The sun will not rise, doomsday will come. I will still look for you everywhere. Because there is only one truth in my heart. Even if I can never see the sun, I will never give up on you.

Loneliness Brought You To Me

(The Greatest Bastard - Damien Rice)

"Words and ideas can change the world."

"In this shaken, twisted world, I gradually become transparent, unable to be seen."

*

I was not afraid to walk alone in this world. I had never been afraid either. Because I learned the word loneliness at a very young age and I could not find anyone to hold my hand in time. I was alone. I would always stay that way.

I was going to break my heart myself again.

My shoulders dropped as I stared at the glass cage that the green-eyed man imprisoned me. Was I a fish that I was being cut off from the oceans where I was supposed to live and closed in glass cages? Did they forget that I was human too? Did they forget that I also have feelings?

When I leaned against the glass and raised my head, I met him eye to eye. He was watching me. "Who are you?" I said with my voice that I care to make it come out clear. It worked.

"Pars," he said, bowing his head. "Pars Sarehan. Your new owner."

When my eyes started twitching in anger, I quickly turned my head to one side and blinked my eyes. Did I deserve to come to this position? "My new owner? I am not an object if you are aware. I am human!"

He nodded in disapproval when I quickly straightened up and fisted my fist into the glass. "Even if you tear your ass, you can't crack this glass, Alenas. Don't tire yourself in vain."

I stood in surprise as he left the room. Yes, it could have pushed me, but nothing was impossible for me.

After touching the thick glass that I couldn't crack even if I tear my ass in Pars's words, the moment I saw the thick glass shaking at the tips of my fingers scattered around, I withdrew and watched the thick glass scatter around. I didn't think it would be that easy.

When I reached the exit door of the room, jumping over the shards of glass, I pressed the doorknob firmly and left the room without thinking. Turning to my right, I was startled when I saw him looking at his pocket watch leaning against the wall. "It was very short," he said as he put his hands in his pockets and started to move towards me. "I think you'll be my strongest weapon ever."

"Weapon?" I said in shock. I could not make sense of anything. The tension between us was dissipated by the loud voice of someone.

"Don't scare the girl!" When I was startled again by the male voice coming from behind me, I was pulled away when I saw three people coming this way. Pars was examining the incoming with his hard gaze.

When the man in the middle extended his hand to me, I hesitantly shook his hand and raised my eyebrows. He had blond hair and grayish eyes. He was of average height and had the most baby face I could see. "I'm Cassian," he said, smiling, showing his white teeth. "Nice to meet you, Reverie."

Without answering, I just smiled, took my hand, and looked at the other pair. They didn't seem very friendly. They just gave nodding.

"Kit," said, the one to Cassian's right. He was taller than him, muscular and brunette.

"I'm Leander." The other had a different type. He had long hair and his hazel eyes were shining brightly. He looked thinner than the others.

"All right!" Pars said when he grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. "Now that you have met my group, we can move on to the information session. Come on, let's go."

When Pars's big hand grabbed my arm tightly, I did not resist and started walking with him. Turning to the right at the end of the hallway, I did not neglect to look back. All three were standing in the same place.

We came across a lot of people while we were walking through the complex building and everyone saluted Pars respectfully. So no one cared if this man pulled a girl by the arm.

After walking for a few more minutes, we left the building and continued through the dark garden. When we arrived at the two-story house just beyond the grand building, Pars let go of my arm and unlock the outer door, and walked in. I was still standing outside. "Come in!" he yelled.

When I walked in hesitantly, I came across a large coffee-tones living room. Just in front of the outer door, inside, there were wooden stairs and it went straight to the second floor.

Looking around, I was buried in the brown leather and long sofa in the middle of the living room when I sat down. It was extremely soft and made an uncomfortable sound.

When the man called Pars sat in the single leather seat opposite me, he took the whiskey bottle on the table in front of him, poured it into his glass, and drank it in one seam. He didn't even grimace. He smiled as his green eyes met my eyes.

"I'll keep it short," he said, leaning back. His careless demeanor was annoying. "We Soldiers have supernatural powers as you do, but our powers are not as strong as yours, and when the time comes, we take one person from the academy. That's why we always have one person with us. Every Soldier has one person. There is nothing more."

I was straight when he quickly got up. "What happened to the one before me? Or more precisely," I said as my voice dropped gradually. "What did you do?"

He was staring numbly into my eyes. "She's dead." the moment he said, I could not control my body, which was stretched with fear. His head was tilted sideways when I unintentionally threw the first item I saw against the wall thanks to my powers.

I saw his eyes twitch as I glared at the broken whiskey bottle. "It was my favorite whiskey," he said, shaking his head patiently.

"All I care!" I was standing up and stepping back towards the door.

"Reverie!" he said, holding up his index finger. "Don't test my patience."

"I don't care about your patience and your stupid state games! I won't die because of you. This won't happen!"

"Look…" he said as he stepped slowly towards me. "Don't make me use my power."

After what he said, I panicked and covered my ears with both of my hands, and I collapsed on the ground, unable to carry my body any longer. I was not too stupid to understand his strength. I remember very well how he controlled me when we first met. This time I was not going to let him, but I also had my guard down. How would I deal with him?

When I gave up and took my hands away from my ears, he started to move towards me. I was watching him from where I lay when he kneeled and grabbed my hands. "Now you will stay with me. You will sleep with me. You will only take my word. All right, Alenas?"

He was doing the same thing again, but what he said was not what troubled me. In doing so, the false affection he gave me was what battered my heart. Because I've never seen compassion from anyone before.

"You need to sleep."

When he got up and grabbed me by my wrist, I did not resist, and I climbed the stairs with him and entered that room. Bedroom. Tears flowed from my eyes as the poison of my past mixed into my blood.

Don't do what they did to me. I beg you. Don't kill me like them. Please, don't touch me.

After laying me on the large double bed, he watched my face for a second or two and turned and started to move forward. "Sleep well."

Sleep is forbidden to me since the day you took away my freedom and promised me it. You do not know.
