Chapter 6 Part 1

****NOTICE****

SOME OF THE CONTENT SHOWN IN THE LAST 3 CHAPTER'S HAS BEEN CUT DUE TO UNINTERESTING AND UNCOMPELLING STORY, THIS PART IS AFTER THE EDITS I HAVE MADE IN THE TOURNAMENT. I HOPE YOU ENJOY NONE THE LESS.

Haider takes a method of spell casting not commonly used. Instead of drawing the runes in his mind, he twists and twirls his staff to draw out the runes by hand and it's looking to be a spell never seen before.

Heldon is still acting above his opponent. He just stands there waiting instead of defending or countering.

Haider finishes drawing the spell and His Majesty stands once again. The young man drives his staff into the dirt and names his new spell. "Snowstorm typhoon." The spell circle disappears and a snowstorm washes over the cathedral.

"What Haider has just done is start off this match by inventing a new spell! The method that he took is the ideal way to do such a thing as doing it through the mind can be filled with errors and the process is much slower." the commentator says.

The flurry of frozen water twists and spins around Heldon, the sudden lack of air causes the fiery armour to weaken, forcing Heldon to increase the supply of mana to keep up with it.

Haider puts his staff back on its hilt and this time uses his hand to create a dozen ice lances through the process of deposition. After creating the final lance, Haider launches the lances one at a time at incredible speed. As each lance makes contact with Heldon's armour, it weakens it even more. And with the 7th lance it finally extinguishes the flame as Heldon gives up on defence. The 8th lance melted before it got halfway to him. The 9th lance shatters as Heldon grabs the lance and crushes it. Haider launches the final three ice lances at his opponent and reinforces them with enchantment magic, something Heddwyn was teaching him to use.

Without any way to destroy these lances, Heldon counters them with a fiery blade. "One. two. And..." Heldon misses the final lance embarrassingly and Haider wins the match as the final lance buries itself into Heldon's stomach, dropping him to the floor as he begins to bleed out, desperately trying to get back up on his feet.

"If you pull that lance out, you're going to die, just leave it in and wait for the healers to treat your wounds." Haider exits the arena, victorious.

The announcer and the crowd sit in stunned silence as the famous Heldon was beaten without being able to reciprocate.

Back in the waiting room, Haider comes back through, winning the match without a single scratch, drinking a mana potion he had on him.

"That was brutal man. Did you really need to go all out like that?" Heather says, mortified.

"That arrogant asshole deserved it. I was not about to let his ego get any bigger." Haider says, stroppily sitting next to his sister.

Heddwyn appears next to Haider with his legs crossed. "You two are really making a splash in this tournament. Don't worry, I won't let you stand me up cubs." He says with a mischievous smile.

"I saw it coming this time." Haider says, booping Heddwyn's nose.

Heddwyn dislikes his cubs actions and his ears twitch. "Did you seriously boop me?!"

"Yeah, whatcha gonna do about it." Haider exchanges a mischievous smile of his own.

"I'm going to unleash hell upon you during our match, that's what I'm going to do." Heddwyn says with a vengeful frown.

Haider instantly regrets his boop at this moment, knowing for certain that his father won't treat this like a game. He leans in towards Heather as Heddwyn storms off. "I think I just made things worse for myself."

"You should know better. You already knew that treating him like a domestic feline bothers him. It's your own damn fault." Heather says.

"I know, I know. I don't know why I did it." Haider says.

"Well, that was, a bit shocking. But we do have more matches so let's get straight back to it. The next match sees another woman join the fray! Her name is Maven Kelligan and she is Dryad, one of the few nature spirits in existence. Why they would need the prize money is beyond me...And her opponent is Gu, another Orc. so many this year." The announcer says.

The announcer starts the match and Gu charges towards the Dryad, a large battleaxe in his hands. Maven is surrounded by ethereal vines, physically part of her in a sense. These vines straighten out making a sort of guide or aiming assistance. A rock materialises at the base of this aiming device and it gets launched at high speed using highly condensed wind magic.

Gu uses a spell called Doppel. This spell creates a spectral duplicate of the currently held weapon. Don't ask how this works but if you are carrying anything other than something that can cut, the spell won't work. Anyway, using this spell, Gu slices the rock in half and the duplicate launches at Maven with a small delay.

Maven dodges the ethereal weapon with seemingly no effort as she starts casting a large spell. I don't know the name but it creates blades of wind, around fifty of them. Knowing he can't win, Gu surrenders, which is uncharacteristic of an Orc.

As Maven walks back into the waiting room through the portal, a very angry and agitated Heddwyn pushes her out of the way and walks on through.

This I swear wasn't planned but Heddwyn's opponent is a Wolfman named Beerwolf Beta. This Wolfman walks through his portal with barely anything on, just a pair of shorts. Beerwolf is covered in fur, as one would expect it's colour a few shades of lighter grey's. As a Wolfman, Beerwolf resembles the traditional wolf anthropomorphic personality from your reality. He has most of the wolf-like characteristics such as a long face and nose as well as large perky ears and paw pads. Wolfmen as the name suggests also are Human-esque with taught, defined bodies but not usually overly muscular. The Wolfman race isn't aggressive looking or even opposing, their kind are rather cute, even though just like Nekojin, they dislike that description. They do love a good scratch behind the ear though.

(Narrator) Speaking of anthropomorphic creatures, according to someone from a country named Greece from your reality, something called a were, wolf i think? Yeah, something called a Werewolf is part of a mythos in your world and seemed to be a popular story.

We join Heddwyn in the dark and musky weapon room. From beyond the gate that leads inside the arena we hear the announcer's muffled voice, hyping up the crowd.

"I can't believe my cub booped me." Heddwyn's eye twitches. "I'll get him back, don't you worry, me. Thanks, me. You're welcome, me."

(Narrator) ok, I think Heddwyn just lost his mind, let's ignore that.

As the gate lifts up, beams of light start to shine through, blinding Heddwyn for a moment. As his vision recovers he walks into the arena, his iconic black spear in hand, his other hand obstructing the sunlight from his eyes. He stands in the general spot on his side of the arena and waits for the announcer to do the stuff, ya know, we've heard it 6 times already.

"Heddyn is a Nikojin, as you can see. He is an expert in covert operations and analysis." The announcer says.

"How did she know that?" Heddwyn mutters.

"He is a retired Gold Plated Adventurer from Stocaea. However it is unknown whether he was born there." The announcer says.

"You know way too much about me. How did you get this information?" Heddwyn yells out.

"We know this information because of high ranking adventurers inside our own kingdom. I'm sure you knew that Sir Longstaff." The announcer explains.

"I guess that makes sense." Heddwyn mutters.

"Any more questions?...Good. Now, where was I. Ah yeah. *cough* His opponent is Beerwolf, a Wolfman. This was not planned but if you don't already know. The history between these two races has been quite the rivalry." The announcer says.

As Beerwolf walks out Heddwyn tries to correct the announcer before the Wolfman intervenes. "Typical, always over exaggerating everything. Our races are not in a rivalry, we've just had disagreements in the past, isn't that right Heddwyn." The wolfman's voice is well modulated and silvery.

"Right, there is no bad blood between the Neko and Wolfmen. Those differences were worked out hundreds of years ago." Heddwyn confirms.

"These two are so annoying. Anyway, let the 3rd match begin!" The announcer proclaims.

Heddwyn casts his concealment spell, completely removing his presence from the area. Beerwolf closes his eyes and a purple detection field surrounds him in a two metre radius. The Wolfman opens his eyes and a thin spear like disturbance can be seen as Heddwyn thrusts his spear forward. Beerwolf catches the spear and casts counter detection magic, dissolving Heddwyn's invisibility. However his reappearing presence seems much larger now.

"Status magic, buffing to be more specific." Beerwolf identifies.

"I'm impressed, this match will be much more enjoyable than I thought. So, how are you with increased speed?" Heddwyn asks intensely.

Beerwolf shows a slightly confused expression as Heddwyn becomes a blur, whizzing around him. However, the Wolfman regains his composure quickly.

"It doesn't matter how fast you are Nekojin, my detection field can detect you easily." Beerwolf says, his voice showing slight concern.

"Is that so?" Heddwyn's voice spreads across several positions. His spear can be seen launching at incredible speed. With none of the throws making contact, Beerwolf managing to dodge them all, Heddwyn changes tactics and steps inside the detection field and back out in every direction possible. This flusters the Wolfman.

With a little frustration brewing inside Beerwolf, a fire starts to light in his eyes and mouth. With a deep breath he blows the fire downwards, an inferno spreads across the area. Heddwyn backs off, his leg arm and chest burned by the Wolfman's fire.

"A hellhound variant, and you're not the Alpha? Looks like I can't get close if you can command hellfire." Heddwyn says.

(Narrator) A Hellhound is indistinguishable from a usual Wolfman, but it's simple to discover one as negative emotions allow them to command the Hellfire.
