Chapter 5 Part 2

They slow dance for another few minutes as Christopher clings to him, face buried in his chest. Oh yeah, that's right both Christopher AND Jasyn grew much taller over the last four years, Christopher's final height turned out to be 6ft 3in whereas Jasyn sprouted to 7ft 2in. Fucking tall ass tree motherfucker.

"I can stay here all day with you. But there are plenty of people here that I want to talk to." Christopher says.

"Ok, there are a few tables and chairs set up out here. Why don't you sit down? I'll bring Heather and Haider over to you." Jasyn says, kissing Christopher on the lips and heading off to find his siblings.

Christopher sits on the closest table to the action and a few moments pass before Zoey comes to sit next to him holding two ales.

"Zoey! Hi!" Christopher says cheerfully.

"Christopher! My man! How have you been?" She asks, handing him one of the glasses.

"Good, really good! How's your Inn's holding up these days?" Christopher asks.

"It's good, I only just opened up a new shop here in the capital. I just recently visited your country. I love the name. The Dimensional Kingdom of Loreafan." Zoey praises.

"Heh thank you, but Dime is doing everything. I'm more of a face for the country than anything." Christopher says.

"Give yourself some credit! You made Dime, didn't you? Therefore you're his superior, and his King." Zoey says.

"Well, the politics behind me being a King is very complex. I won't bore you with the details, but I technically only hold that title in that parallel. It's being debated whether it counts in this existence between all the allied nations right now." Christopher explains.

"You've always been a smart kid Christopher. But you have quite obviously changed since the first time we met. All in good ways too. Your more mature, your tendency to make choices on emotion have mellowed out. I like the new you." Zoey says, hyping him up.

"You're sweet. Thank you Zoey. I know you're busy managing four Inn's and such, but I hope we can see each other more often." Christopher says.

"Certainly, I'll get out of your hair. I got a Heddwyn to spy on." She says walking away, carefully taking a sip of her ale.

(Narrator) She really is a big fan of your dad, isn't she.

"It's kinda always been like that. Hasn't it. She'll push anything aside to just burn the sight of him into her brain." Christopher replies.

"I know you're talking to your wisp, but it looks super weird watching you talk to nothing." Haider says, scaring Christopher to his core.

"Haider! You skinny faggot. Gimme a hug." Christopher laughs, standing up with his arms outstretched.

While in the embrace Haider says, "Awe, the faggot brothers, reunited at last."

"So, introduce me. I'm seeing some new companions here!" Christopher says, squatting down, his hand ready for Simon to get some scratches.

"So Simon had a litter of cubs a few weeks ago, that's why he's surrounded by mini Vine Leopards. We have Sophie, Star, Skip, Song, and Simon Jr." Heather says.

"This is unprecedented. How did this even happen?" Christopher asks.

"I don't know, he kinda just, split." Heather says.

"Oh ok. So are they all just five smaller Simon's?" Christopher asks.

"Not quite, they all share a close spiritual link. But they act like separate souls. Hence why I named them." Heather says.

Christopher turns to where Haider is standing and points to his shoulder. "And who is that?"

"This is Skift, she's a Snow Fox." Haider says.

"Are they a summon? Like what's going on here?" Christopher asks.

"So we have a summoning class and about four months ago I was able to summon her. She is a B-Class summon. Turns out I have a talent for summoning powerful ice and snow themed monsters and animals. Like Hayle for example, he was an Ice Golem summon. When I summon things relating to my attribute, they tend to be way more powerful than normal." Haider explains.

"Again, I'm sorry I couldn't go to school with you guys. I really wish I could be there. It sounds like a lot of fun!" Christopher says with a sweetened smile.

"How many times do we have to tell you, baby brother? We understand. What you should be apologising for, is making us attend without you. You essentially forced us through the door like a desperate single mom forcing her infant into pageant contests." Heather jokes.

Christopher laughs along with her. "I miss you two so damn much." he lightly slaps Haider's arm. "Why don't you come visit me inside my dimension anymore. It's been like eight months. Like fuck man your only on the other side of the capital. Come visit me for once." He crosses his arms and pouts.

"That is still like a two hour walk Christopher. With the school year packed and at home assignments we have to complete, we're both completely swamped." Heather says.

"This is the first time we've seen each other in like, a week." Haider continues.

"Then I'll have to come in as a guest at Geovana Capital College some time then." Christopher says.

"Oh god. Please don't. We're treated like outcasts enough as it is." Haider says.

"Most of the nobleman kids don't like the fact that there are two commoners studying at their 'prestigious college'." Heather adds.

"You two realise that when The Dimensional Kingdom of Loreafan becomes officially recognised as a sovereign nation of Epusdma, You two become royalty, right?" Christopher says.

"I don't think that the noblemen and women are going to believe that." Haider says.

"All the more reason for me to visit when that happens then!" Christopher says, holding his palms together.

"We'll be off to socialise with the others now. Happy Birthday, little bro." Haider says with a fake smile. Heather follows closely with her small army of Soulust.

(Narrator) Is everything ok, Christopher?

"Huh? Oh, yeah. It just dawned on me that I'm a ruler of a nation. It'll probably only be a few weeks before it becomes official n everything." Christopher says, his mood soured.

(Narrator) You have plenty of people to talk to if it starts getting difficult for you. You even have some professionals that can help you. Every step on your path.

"Yeah, you're right. It shouldn't be too long now before I finish my latest research." Christopher says. He turns around to look at Tariku and he spots Jasyn in the corner of his eye. He jumps slightly.

"How long have you been silently standing there?!" Christopher asks, grasping his chest.

"Sorry. It wasn't intentional." Jasyn answers calmly, moving a chair to sit next to him.

"It's ok, I just forgot you were here for a second. It caught me off guard." Christopher says drawing in a deep breath.

"Is this too much for you? I know you ain't one for social interaction." Jasyn asks, holding out his hand between them.

Christopher holds his hand. "No, it's fine. I just think I might be overworking myself a little."

"You have been staying up late more. Be careful. We wouldn't want you getting sick now would we?" Jasyn says, rubbing his thumb on the back of Christopher's hand.

"No, that wouldn't be good at all." Christopher answers. "Let's go talk to more of our friends."

Relov, Silus, and Beerwolf have formed a group that's congregating around the confectionery stand's. Silus feels their presence as they approach and pivots swiftly to look at the two.

"Christopher ma boy! Come give your old Uncle Silus a hug!" The muscular Orc says, his cheeks flushed strawberry red.

Christopher giggles. "Are you drunk already?" He gives the significantly shorter man an embrace. "What are we going to do with you? Huh?"

(Narrator) Wasn't he like 6ft 4in five years ago? The fuck happened?

"I've been wondering the same thing." Christopher whispers.

"What was that boy? My ears aren't what they used to be." Silus says.

"Oh, it was nothing. Don't you worry about that." Christopher deflects.

"How's life been treating you? I haven't seen you in a long time." Relov says, tossing a cake-pop into his mouth. He offers the bowl of them to him.

Christopher denies his offer and says, "Well, I'm sure you know most of it since you're teaching magic here in the capital."

"Yeah, that's true. Haider isn't the best at keeping things to himself." Relov says, eating another cake ball.

Christopher laughs. He looks at Beerwolf and gives him a stern and intimidating nod. Beerwolf returns the gesture.

"You really need a new pair of shorts, Beerwolf. It's bad enough how little you wear but I can clearly see everything." Jasyn says.

Beerwolf looks down at himself. "So."

"It's not appropriate attire to be wearing here!" Jasyn bites.

"Calm down babe, it's fine." Christopher says.

"You tryna fight me Laird?!" Beerwolf argues back.

Christopher forces his hand out of Jasyn's and angrily marches towards the Wolfman. "You do NOT dare threaten Jasyn!" he shouts, aggressively shoving Beerwolf back. "If you lay even a finger on him I'll burn your whole village down. You hear me?" he stares holes into Beerwolf, glaring at him until he answers.

Beerwolf breathes heavily. Perhaps not expecting Christopher to snap like that. He nods. "Understood, sir."

Christopher takes a deep breath, holds up his hand, and a pair of jean shorts appear. "Here, these should work for you."

Beerwolf hesitantly takes the shorts from him. He sees everyone looking at him. His eyes glance over at a disapproving looking Beluf and as Christopher turns to walk back to Jasyn, he issues a challenge. "Fight me."

"Excuse me?" Christopher asks with annoyed confusion.

"I challenge you to a duel. If I win, Beluf comes back to the village. If you win." He looks at the floor to think. "I'll become your slave."

Christopher beckons His Majesty to him and asks, "Is that even legal?"

"Surprisingly, yes. Since he volunteered to become a slave if you win, this slave contract would be very okay." Shavik states.

"Are you certain you want this?" Christopher says. "If you end up becoming my slave, you WON'T be wearing such shabby attire."

"I am willing to make that sacrifice. If it's to finally bring our leader home, I'll trade my life." Beerwolf says, a firm stance as he does so.

Christopher flicks his arm to the left and a gateway opens up. "Alright Beerwolf. I accept. This gate will lead us to a dead woodlands, we can fight as hard as we want there." he says, taking off his blazer, tossing it to Jasyn. "I would like His Majesty to bear witness to this duel. Anyone else is welcome to spectate if they wish. But you must not interfere with our battle. Understood?"

Shavik nods, and seven other people walk forward. Heather, Haider, Viridiana, Silus, Relov, Heddwyn, and of course Beluf.

"Your a fucking idiot you beta bitch." Beluf insults.

Christopher smiles widely at the Narrator. "You better make me look good, Tari."

(Narrator) You know I will!

Christopher laughs excitedly, walking backwards for a moment before charging through the gate.

On the other side is nothing but grey. The soil is dried up, the tree's have lost all their colour. Animal skeletons litter the area. Nothing but the sight of death for miles.

Beerwolf walks through, stopping when he's fifty feet away from Christopher. They both wait in silence as everyone walks through.

"You'll start once I fire off this bullet spell." Shavik says, holding an empty metallic instrument. A loud bang and a red beam launches into the sky, the fight begins.
