Chapter 4 Part 2

Dime produces a rift, dropping down 3 large crates on top of one another, with a small note on the top. Opening one of the boxes shows it filled to the brim with healing potions.

Heather picks up the note and reads it aloud. "I will send as many potions as it takes, bring him back to us. Don't worry about a mission failure, by the sounds of it you've gathered plenty of info already. Good luck, and may the blessings of The Mother Tiamet protect you."

"This one is full of stamina potions." Haider says, holding a Holy grade potion.

"Then I'm guessing that one is filled with mana potions." Kiana says.

"There is at least 500 Gold's worth of Holy Grade Potions here. I never thought His Majesty would supply these to us." Beauregard says, opening the container of mana potions. "This is crazy."

"This'll keep us going for weeks, I just hope Christopher and Jasyn can hold on till we can get there." Heather says.

(Nebulon) Why ain't we with Christopher right now?

(Narrator) I was literally seconds away from following the connection you twot. Chill the fuck out.

"Let's give Hayle and Simon some time to recover before we head out." Haider says, drinking one of the stamina potions.

"Good idea, there's no point in rushing to it. We need a plan." Kiana says, chugging down a healing potion.

The Brood Mother Queen, now back in her nest, has separated Jasyn and Christopher and hung them upside down in webbed pods on the roof above her supposed throne. Jasyn's sobs can be heard inside his pod.

"Christopher. Please wake up. We need you right now." Jasyn pleads.

"Shut up, human!" The Queen hisses.

"Let us go!" Jasyn demands.

"Now why would I do that? He has a beautiful darkness inside him that I would love to harness." She says with seduction, horny moans as she finishes every sentence.

"What are you talking about?!" Jasyn yells. "Just let my boyfriend go, you bitch!"

"Oh, didn't you know? This kid has such a dark tether attached to his soul. I believe it would turn him into the world's most powerful demon if they got ahold of him. I wish to use that darkness to make him into my beautiful puppet, my most loyal and powerful Brood Mother King!" She gasps at the end of her speech, chittering from the surrounding spiderlings, almost like a chant can be heard throughout the nest. "Unfortunately for me, this transformation will prove quite difficult. I need to remove that pesky dragon magic from it. Which is where you come in my deer. I need the beating heart of a lover to break that seal."

"Your a fucking psychopath!" Jasyn shouts, rocking the pod he's in as he pounds his fist against the hardened webbing.

"Not in the slightest, pathetic human. I'm only doing whatever's best for my nest. Keeping that Dungeon Master at bay from my territory gets harder and harder every day you know." She says. "Now you hold on tight now while I prepare the ritual."

Scampering fades off into the distance, presumably The majority of the nest has moved away from the pods.

"Haider, Heather. Please. Save us." Jasyn whispers.

(Dime) They received your plea Master Laird. They will be with you soon.

"Ok, so Jasyn and Christopher are both still alive. According to Dime, they are suspended in the air inside a thick shell of spider webbings. We have maybe a few hours before that ritual begins." Heather says.

"So what's the plan?" Beau asks.

"It's simple, use our most powerful or effective spells and attacks to clear a path through the nest to save them, and get the hell out of there before they overwhelm us again. We should have more than enough potions to keep the remaining horde at bay." Heather says.

"Why not use the sunflower thingy again? It could clear the rest of them out." Kiana asks.

"It's a good theory but this nest could have ten to one-hundred times as many spiders than the squadron that ambushed us. It's not going to be a viable option if I'm out of commission for longer than a few seconds. We need to be smart and swift. Fire magic is going to be our best option. And for most of us, I know that's going to get messy." Heather says. "Kiana, how is your fire magic?"

"It's not the best, but I'm more proficient than the average person I guess." Kiana states.

"Ok, the rest of us can support you. With fire being in the equation, Simon and Willow are useless. So they won't be participating in this fight." Heather says, shrinking Willow and Simon down and placing them inside her pouch.

"Wait, why are you taking away some of our most powerful players?" Kiana asks in annoyed frustration.

"Simply cause I don't trust you not to use friendly fire." Says Heather, Bluntly.

Kiana shrugs, "Meh, valid point."

"Make sure you're all prepared. Let's get going. We have a long way to go." Beau says, his voice more of a seasoned war veteran.

(Narrator) This seems hopeless. Am I going to have to watch our darling Christopher be a monster for the rest of his life? Nebulon…This is where you tell us everything will be ok, right?

(Narrator) Nebulon?

(Nebulon) I don't know. I'm sorry.

(Narrator) Please. Tell me you're joking.

(Nebulon) It will all depend on him.

A tearing sound echoes throughout the nest and through the endless chittering chaos Jasyn stops his desperate attempts to escape for a moment.

A realisation dawns on him and his desperation becomes more focused. "Leave him alone! Get away from him!" he cries out. Beating and clawing at his prison walls.

"Quiet now. It'll be your turn soon." A deep voice calls out.

(Dime) Are you able to do anything to slow them down, Jasyn?

Jasyn shakes his head. A final punch at the ground causes Jasyn to break down into helpless cries. "I'm completely useless!" He bellows. "I cant protect anything! Why was I even born!? Why couldn't I have been stronger?"..."Everything is a lie."

An explosion can be heard in the far distance and army's of legs charge through the next. "Quickly, grab him! We can't have these Human's interrupting the ritual! Defend the nest with your lives my children!" The Queen yells.

Jasyn gets jostled around as his sac is cut down and carried to the ritual site. A feeling rises within him.

Hope.

Hope that they can be saved. That Christopher can be saved from this awful fate.

(Nebulon) It's not looking good.

(Narrator) What the fuck do you mean by that?

(Nebulon) His feeling of hope has cut down the possibilities to a few. None of them are pretty.

(Narrator) Why?

(Narrator) WHY, NEBULON!

(Nebulon) Only one scenario remains where Christopher is still human. And almost all of them lead to Jasyn's death.

(Narrator) There's no way.

Jasyn's prison gets torn open and he is greeted with the sight of Christopher tied up by his arms and legs, completely stripped of his clothes. Anger wells up inside of him as several mandibles reach inside and grab him. He screams and growls at the top of his lungs as he tries to squirm out of their grasp. He is dragged over to a stone altar directly in front of his love. Tears well up in his eyes as he is tied down to it, squirming desperately as his armour is ripped off him.

The Queen approaches him, her form is strangely human, which is confusing since she was a massive Brood Mother last time he saw her. On closer inspection her body is more like a Centaur, with the body of a spider and the upper body of a stunning woman with black hair. "Don't worry human. This will only hurt like Hel." She's got a sinister smile on her face as she traces her fingers up his smooth skin, from knee to neck.

Fear radiates through his body as her Menacing touch chills him to the bone. "Oh, usually I get to have a little fun with a man before I kill him. Such a disappointment, even as a sacrifice. Good riddance. I can have fun with your dear beloved when he turns." She laughs, whispering the words into his ear.

A loud crash enters the chamber and everyone darts their heads to look at what's going on. "Do not let them pass my King's! They shall not be allowed to disturb the ritual!"

Jasyn struggles to break free of his binds. Trying in vain to stall the ritual enough so the others can save Christopher. "I will do anything I can to make sure you don't get what you want you bitch! Even if it costs me my life!"

The Brood Mother Queen leans in close and says, "And how exactly are you going to do that?"

Jasyn leans in and fakes her out by pretending to whisper into her ear. He instead rips it off and she falls back slightly, holding her bleeding ear. "You FUCKING parasite! You'll pay for that! You will no longer get a quick death. I'll make sure each second is dragged out into oblivion!"

"Heh. Do your worst." Jasyn says, spitting out the flesh he tore off.
