Chapter 11 Part 2

What was I doing? Oh right...Wait...That was everything. Ffffffuuuuuckkk yyyooooouuuuu. I say, pointing my non-existent middle finger to the sky.

(Narrator) That's right. I poke fun at myself too...It was kinda fun.

Why didn't I put quotation marks? Cuz I fucking felt like it.

(Narrator) I'm more aggressive than I used to be...Meh, let's just call it character growth.

In the time it took for me to show you around, Nebulon interrupting me, and to have a quick argument with myself, Christopher has already started continuing his research on if multiple entry points can even be placed inside a dimension.

We come back when he frustratingly vents his anger to the air.

"You know how it is, just invent a way to do something that's NEVER been done before. Like it's that fucking easy. Just casually make a hub for instantaneous travel. It's not that fucking hard." He scribbles down a few notes, going over the fundamentals of how Spatial magic functions.

Apparently his venting triggered a possible breakthrough because he stopped being mad and became unnervingly happy. "Instantaneous travel? In other words teleportation. Spatial magic is, at its core, manipulation over spacetime. Could I make the dimension stretchy? No, it could cause a complete collapse."

He leans back in his chair to think. "Right now, only one gate can be opened. But if more could be done at the same time, it would need to be within the limits of the dimension. So distance will be an issue no matter what."

Christopher unknowingly started pacing around the house in his deep thoughts. "But what if I create a hub here? Like an access point. No, it would need to be linked with something inside the palace. A door wouldn't be secure enough. I don't want just any Tom, Dick, or Harry to walk in here."

He stops in his tracks in front of the fridge, hanging his head low. "Ugh, why did I agree to this?" Enough of his attention returns for him to be confused and walks back over to his desk, sitting back down.

"That door idea was close, it would work in theory, but there is a huge security issue with it. What if there was a way to open it with a command, maybe on an accessory?...That's plausible. I'll write that down."

(Narrator) Ugh, he may be a genius, but his handwriting is awful. He has time to improve. He's only 13 afterall. Who am I kidding, that penmanship is so bad it looks like the ink is trying to run away from the page. It's so bad that he doesn't write with a pen, he uses a chisel. Like why is he pressing so hard on the paper? YOUR GONNA RIP IT!

"Yeah, I can't read that. I'll just remember it. Have I ever forgotten something? I don't think so. Wait, how would I know if I'd forgotten something if I forgot it? Oh god!" Christopher says, holding the top of his head.

(Narrator) Woah woah woah, fucking slow down! 1. Your too fucking young to be having a midlife crisis. And 2. You can't read your own handwriting! What? Gods above!

Christopher briefly remembers that the Narrator exists and somehow clocks him in the random spot he selected to stare at.

(Narrator) Stop actually staring at me while you're pretending to stare at me. You're freaking me out!

"Shut up, I know you're judging me right now." He says.

(Narrator) There's no way he heard me. Stop spooking me, you, you, fff-lapjack. I don't know. Don't fucking ask me! I said don't! Oh god now I'm doing it. To you!

After a creepy five minutes of prolonged eye contact from the possessed little shit. The devil in a human skin gets bored and grabs a banana from the pantry and doesn't even eat it. It just sits on his desk while he mumbles boring shit.

He draws up the spell that could do what he needs to do in order to fulfil Shavik's request. Surprisingly it's coherent.

He walks outside, parchment in his hand. He looks around the flat landscape to find a good place to test his experiment. He catches Beluf walking over to him, finished with tending the farm.

"Hey Beluf, C'mere. I want a second option. I might have an answer to the issue." Christopher says.

"It's been a week. How could you have found a solution already?" Beluf asks.

"What do you mean?" Christopher says, completely oblivious.

"Do you honestly think you're the only Spatial mage working on this? This could be revolutionary for technological advancements that include Spatial magic. Imagine the business opportunities." Beluf says, taking a quick gander at the runes on the page. "Holy shit pup, That's looking complex. Do you think you could pull this off?"

"There's only one way to find out. But I want to test it on the current gate so you need to evacuate to my inn room for now." Christopher says.

"Is it dangerous? Do we need to worry about our stuff? Oh, what about all of all your shit in the barn?" Beluf asks.

"No, but in order for this to have the best chance of success, I can't have you potentially interfering with the results somehow." Christopher says, moving the open gate directly in front of him.

(Narrator) With his luck, I doubt his first try will do anything. Or at least not have the desired effect.

They both exit the dimension and Christopher moulds the opening to be a larger doorway. After stabilisers, Christopher lays out the blueprint and starts drawing in the runes by hand. He notices a few errors in his design as he's writing so he decides to alter the runes before continuing. There are a total of five rune circles all inside one another like one of those things that have a smaller one of itself in it and so on.

"Alright, looks good. Now I need to do the enchantment and cast them both at the same time. Can you take the ring off my left and place it in my palm please?" Christopher asks. Beluf does as he asks and Christopher starts slowly grafting the new enchantment with his index finger.

"Ok, looks good. Just trying to invent a new spell. Not too hard, Haider did it. I just need to cast the spell on the gate, then at the same time, add the spell onto the ring with an enchantment. Then if that works and the spell is successful, I can add a password that only activates with my voice." Christopher says, holding the ring flat in his palm once again.

Christopher activates both spells and combines them together, lifting the ring into the air, spinning violently. Beluf goes to talk but Christopher silences him, fearful that he would have ruined the experiment. Christopher takes a step back from the ring.

It spins faster. Faster, Rotato Fa a ster! GO! G O! RO tAT OH!

(Narrator) Pfft. Apparently there was a joke broadcast from your reality about a rotating banana. I though I would try to recreate it but it was so damn stupid I couldn't keep going. What the hell are you guys doing? Go outside! Take the book with you though.

Anyway, the ring continues to speed up, eventually glowing white and almost blinding Christopher and Beluf, who hid behind the couch. After light completely erases the detail from the room, the ring slows to a halt, floating. The power of the gate likely entered the ring as the doorway closed up. Presuming the spell was a success, all Christopher would need to do to complete the enchantment is whisper the word or phrase he wishes to be the passcode for the opening of the gate.

Christopher approaches the ring and whispers, "By the blessing of the gods, I command this ring to open the way. Using my voice as the key. And this phrase as the lock. Dimensional Door!" The ring stops defying the power of gravity and lands in Christopher's hands.

"So, did it work?" Beluf asks, no longer cowering far back.

"Dunno. It seems good so far." Christopher says, feeling the now glowing ring.

"Well. the experiment isn't over, see if you can open the door." Beluf says impatiently.

"Right. Here we go." Christopher repeats the command out loud and for a moment nothing happens, disheartening Christopher a tad. The ring's gem then shined ruby red light a few feet ahead and the dimensional door shows itself. Instead of being a direct pass through to Christopher's dimension a large 10ft red door with a golden handle with the words, The Realm of The Great Lord Christopher Newman written across the top.

"Ooh, I don't know if I like that writing. Did doing this really make me a Lord?" Christopher asks, swivelling to look at Beluf who is shakily pointing at the door. "What? What happened?" Christopher looks back to see more writing on the door.

On the door it says, would you like to change the name of your realm master?

"Woah, no way! Did I just make you a sentient, thing?" Christopher asks.

The previous writing disappears and a new sentence takes its place. It reads, I have no soul. I only serve my creator. I am now your ring. I can communicate to you and anyone inside the dimension as well as through the door.

"Cool! Oh, do you know if allowing another door to appear within the realm? As in creating a connection with someone far away?" Christopher asks.

You can. I can perform the action if you like. All someone would need to do is provide their mana and ruby ring. Any colour will do. And then I will be able to be linked to anyone bearing these rings. For safety reasons. You will be the only person who can create and confirm the bearer of your rings.

"That was a ton to read. Ok, I think I got it. So all I need to do now is summon you to create new links?" Christopher asks again.

Correct. However, If you require a new dimensional door for a different dimension, you will need to perform the spell that brought me into existence again, with a whole new set of rings to link those doors together.
