Chapter 1

I woke up to my alarm ringing at 6:00 and went out for a quick run like every other day. After returning home, I took a shower and then put on a simple outfit consisting of a pair of black jeans, a grey tank top, and a denim jacket. I ended it with black converse.

Today was my first day at Hertfelt High. My parents had me transferred there, hoping I would forget the past and live my life.

I look at myself in the mirror before putting lipgloss and heading down to grab breakfast. Maria was in the kitchen making me breakfast. She is more like a mother to me cause my parents are always on business trips since I was 10.

After breakfast, I take my car keys and bag and leave the house. I drive to school while listening to random music on the radio.

I could feel many eyes on me as I entered the school. I could hear a lot of the people whispering about me. I ignored all the comments and started to walk toward the office. Even though the school is big, I could make my way to the office.

After I reached the office, I took my schedule and started attending classes. My first class was mathematics, the worst subject to start the day. On the way to my class, I bumped into someone and fell hard. I see a hot boy smiling at me when I turn around, but he leaves without apologizing or even helping me. How rude, I thought.

I reached class late Ms. Marin let me in because I was new. I introduced myself, "Hi all, I'm Alexandra, but please call me Lexi. Hope we get along well," Ms. Marin asked me to sit next to a girl named Rebecca. As I walked to my place, I heard a guy say: "Wow, she is so hot. Mia is nothing compared to her". After I sat down, Rebecca introduced herself to me. The classroom door opened to reveal the same guy from before Ms. Marin then shouted: "Mr. Brandon Rivers, you are late, again."

That guy walked into class without caring about Ms. Marin and walked to his seat. She just shook her head and continued with the lecture. Mathematics was always dull, but sitting beside Rebecca was fun. She kept on saying something about the teacher. The rest of the day just went by. I had most classes with Rebecca and some of her friends.

During lunch, I sat with Rebecca and her friends, Hana, Zach, Matt, and Brandon. Brandon spoke the least (Maybe because he hated me); Rebecca and Matt are the cutest couple I have ever seen.

I felt someone's piercing glare at me as I was eating lunch. I ignored it and continued having lunch. After some time, Hana said: " Mia, What do you want? Why are you here?"

Oh, so this is Mia. She looks good only, I thought, just before I heard her high-pitched annoying voice say, "Oh, I just wanted to see the new bitch; everyone was going around praising. You must be Lexi." She extended her hand to me, "Yes, and you must be the wannabe bitch everyone was talking about, Mia, am I right?" I said as I heard a few clunches from the table while Mia screamed: "SHUT UP!" and walked away, leaving many people looking at our table.

The rest of the day went by calmly without being interrupted by Mia. At the end of the day, as I walked out of school with Rebecca and Hana, I saw someone leaning on something besides my car. I slowly walked to see none other than Brandon making out with some girl.

Wow, Just the way to end the school day. I walked past him to my car and drove away.
