They did not come until the next morning. Victoria saw the cars come in and park the same way they did yesterday before all of them got out of the car.
But it was one person in particular that she kept her eyes on, the cruel woman that she still did not know the name of.
The house once again, was filled with noise. Noise that scared her knowing that they could hurt her any time they wanted.
The thumping of footsteps on the stairs made her close her eyes knowing that they were coming for her. Her door opened and her eyes did the same before zeroing on who had entered.
"You are in your school uniform," The woman nodded, "good."
"Bring it in, she said as she walked into the room and stood in front of the bed. "Sit here, girl."
Not wanting to give a chance to the woman to hurt her, Victoria did as she was told to do and took the seat on the corner of the bed.
"Middle."
She got up and sat right in front of the woman, in the middle of the bed yet remained on the corner where her feet touched the ground.
Victoria never looked into the eyes of the woman. If she looked at the man who entered with a tripod and a small camera. He kept the instruments in front of the woman before, maybe, turning it on because Victoria could see a red light now winking at her.
"I want you to say your name, and then when I ask you what do you want, you say you want your dad to come and save you. Understood?"
Victoria nodded.
"Words."
"Yes."
"Good," she nodded and glanced at the man. "Go."
From where the man stood, besides the camera, he spoke, "what is your name?"
"Victoria Smith—"
Before Victoria could even finish the sentence, the cruel woman stepped towards her and the last thing she felt was her head turn towards the side as her cheek burned.
"I don't tolerate nuisances," she ground out, " you are no longer that girl! You Are Leah Adams. Understood?"
Keeping the tears on the bay, Victoria nodded. "Ye-yeah."
"Good," she could but the evil expression remained on her face, "I'm going to throw you to that man who is obsessed with you if you mess up again."
Her eyes bulged out at the thread. How could a woman make such a threat to a girl? Was that even possible for something a woman would do to another?
She walked to stop behind the camera and once again the red light winked at her. "Go."
"What is your name?" The man asked again.
"Leah Adams."
"And what is it that dear Mrs Adams wants?"
"I.." at her hesitation, the woman glared at Victoria, making her stumble for words. " I want my d-daddy to save me."
She did not want Leah Adams' daddy to come and save her. She wanted her own dad to come and was whisk her off into the safety of their small apartment.
Why was this woman making her do this? Why were they sending a message to Leah's father instead of hers? Leah was dead. All her father was going to do, was to claim the dead body.
She stammered with eyes filled with tears, making her vision bloody. But that was all they went for. The woman stepped out of the room and the man shut off the camera before taking it with him.
"Here is your food kid," The camera man came back to drop a McDonald's bag on her bed. "We won't bother you for today. Go to sleep."
Victoria stared at him, not trusting his words but nodded anyway just for pretences. It was when he left after closing her door, did she look at the food.
A burger, this would be easy for antibiotics.
