Chapter 3

Stepping into my apartment I begin to shrug out of my jacket when I suddenly pause. What is that sound. It sounds like a steady thumping sound from my roommate Bella's room. Bella I call out and get no response. Oh my God what if she is being mauled or raped. My mind goes into overdrive and I know I have to do something. Picking up the baseball bat beside the door, I suddenly feel like superwoman. Shaking off those thoughts I determinately walk to Bella's door with the intention of barging but before I could get there the door flies open and an almost naked and really hairy guy runs out. Arrrrgh I scream. Bella calmly walks out saying geez Annie chill. Someone would think you have never seen a guy before. With a glare I go to my room and have a shower.

Fifteen minutes later I am showered and dressed in comfortable pajamas. The smell of pizza draws me out of my room like a hound. Getting to the tiny living room I see Bella with a box of pizza in front of the TV. I join her and we eat in silence for a few minutes. Look honey I am so sorry. I should have told you someone was staying over. I didn't mean to embarrass you.

It's fine. It just wasn't expected I reply

She just nods and squeezes my hand

So tell me about your day. How was the cafe today

And so I do. I tell her everything that happened. When I am done all she does is stare at me and says WOW.

Wow? That's all you could say. You are supposed to help me out here  I wail

But help you out from what. The way I see it nothing happened so nothing is going on. Stop stressing.

With a sigh I realize she is right. Nothing actually happened. I was just overthinking it as usual.

That night sleep didn't come early. I was plagued by thoughts and after tossing and turning for some hours I finally slept.
