10 minutes only remained before the match ended, and we needed to gather more points since it will give us a head start later.
We managed to regroup with Alice and Scarlet after searching the forest and mountains for them. It made us lose a lot of time but we were in the lead.
The last member of the Iron Defense Squad was eliminated by the sharks, and we hunted down the sharks for stealing our "kill".
Since I was the only one who could defeat them in the waters, I decided to combat them alone.
Earlier, I used wind magic to cleanse my clothes off the water but I guess I'll have to get my clothes wet again.
Looking at my team as I stood in front of the lake, I said, "Well, wish me luck!"
They nodded at me, and I jumped into the water with the expectation of everything will become difficult from here on out.
And, it did.
Dodging the shark demi-human who used himself as a torpedo, I narrowed my eyes. I could feel them everywhere, moving around me, circling their prey.
If I want to win this, I'll have to be a bit crueler than before.
Unlike literal sharks, these demi-humans can think. They have intelligence, therefore they could make harder decisions than any sharks. The first of them I fought earlier was dumb, reckless, and got ruled by his emotions. But these are different; I can feel through the vibrations of the water that they were calm.
They are as calm as a hunter but as cruel as a beast.
They were silently swimming, so the vibrations I could feel were limited to their other movements such as attacking.
I was backed into a wall under the waters, and then, they all rushed towards me.
Their primary weapons are their teeth but I can feel them using magic. Mana Enhancements, maybe?
With little to no effort, I dodged their attacks, and grabbed one of them by the waist, using my nails to latch onto them!
I kicked the wall to swim away from them while still latching onto their teammate!
I knew that the one I was piercing with my nails is suffering in pain but cannot scream because they are underwater, but still, I continued.
Looking at the other racing behind me, I sighed.
Since I didn't know how to knock out a shark demi-human, I decided to just punch them in the stomach, hard.
"Hmpf!" The one I was holding grunted in pain but was unable to make any sounds since we were underwater.
But that punch didn't do many effects, and the other two are already close behind me, just a few meters away from skewering me with their teeth.
'This is harder than I thought. Hmm, maybe it's time to use that method.'
I could've defeated them from the very start if I could just kill them, but I can't.
Sighing, I jumped out of the water and landed on the land, then saw my team on the other side, hiding behind a couple of trees.
"Randy!" I shouted, "Plan B! Use many of your bombs to blow up this place!"
This is my other plan. A simple yet very dangerous plan.
The total bombs in his storage rings can amount to 5 Kilotons of TNT. That means, he is literally a moving time bomb. He could blow up a large part of the sect with the bombs he is carrying in his storage ring right now, but the worst part isn't even that; it's that he has other storage rings filled with bombs!
The total bombs he has in his house can amount to 30 Kilotons of bombs! He, alone, made that! Imagine if he decides to just f*ck it and blow up everything!
He went out of his hiding place, and yelled back to me, "Yeah! I knew you'd pick my plan!" He celebrated, and I saw him toss many different kinds of bombs into the lake with just a flick of his hand, as his storage ring does the job for him.
Knowing this could be a large explosion, I backed away from the lake and went deeper into the woods. But I didn't let my guard down because I knew how there are still some ninja cats left wandering around in the woods. They might be here right this very moment!
I sighed, seeing how weak I am. With my magic, I should've been invincible around here, but master decided to test me by not letting me use my magic. I could've rained fireballs everywhere and eliminated every opposing team in here but, I can't!
For f*ck sake, I probably look pathetic right now, seeing as I couldn't even take care of 3 shark demi-humans!
Then, suddenly, even though I expected it, a large explosion occurred in the lake!
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!*
*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*
It has to be said that the explosions were very powerful. I was almost pushed away by the chain reactions but I managed.
"How many bombs did Randy put in there!?" I asked myself, as I witnessed the entire lake evaporate.
Only a small amount of the water earlier remained in the hole of the lake. Even my jaws dropped by how powerful those bombs were, but where are those sharks? Did the explosions kill them?
My instincts kicked in, and I dodged a… kunai?
'The Cat Ninjas!'
Turning around, I looked everywhere, trying to find them.
I saw one on top of the trees, squatting, then disappeared as my eyes followed her.
A cat chase, huh?
I ran after her on the ground, but I did not trust this one bit. There was a reason why she threw that kunai towards me; to take my attention. She and her team might have some trap set up somewhere around here, so I gotta be careful.
Since ninjas are known to be cunning.
(Meanwhile…)
"Holy sh*t! How many bombs do that kid have!? He blew up an entire lake, folks! He couldn't have bought those in here because no one in the sect sells those kinds of bombs! How did he get so many bombs!?" Arsus yelled on his mic, asking questions.
"Simple, Randy made those all by himself," Patriarch Yule said, gaining everyone's attention, "For those who know him closely, they must know that Randy is a bomb fanatic. His obsession with bombs is borderline crazy, yet he knows how to fear it. He views his bombs as 'art' and he brags about that, many times, I might say. But, in terms of physical prowess and magical power, he is weaker than most. Since birth, he was always a frail child, with his body showing symptoms of many sicknesses when he was a child."
"You seem to know a lot about him, Patriarch Yule, is he your disciple?" Arsus asked, curious.
He shook his head, and replied, "No, of course not. I just happened to read his files that were brought to me when he was found by the recruiting team." Of course not, that was a lie. He has read all of Auguste's teammates' files. From their childhood to who they are now. Even Scarlet Imperium.
He did not mention it but Randy comes from the royal family of Albion, yet he didn't have inherit the trait of a werewolf and instead was just a frail human. He was a failure of the empire's royal family, and that's the reason he was found by the sect… because he was a failure.
Hmm, I've been planning for a decade-long time skip. After the time skip, I will be locking the rest of the chapters. Would you guys be fine with that?
