The Mafia boss raised an eyebrow, although he knew Valerie couldn't see him. "What kind of trade are you talking about?"
Valerie's eyes gleamed with determination as she spoke to the Mafia boss. "I want you to take Sophia back," she said her voice firm.
The Mafia boss paused, his voice hesitant. "I'm not sure that's possible," he said. "You see, I've had dealings with Alex before. And to be honest with you, I'm a man of my word. I gave Alex my words that if he meets his end of the bargain, I would stay out of his business, and he has done just as I asked, so I wouldn't want to steal his precious Sophia from him."
"So why does that matter? Aren't you a criminal? Besides, since when do criminals keep to their words?" Valerie retorted. "Just get the job done."
