“Come on, Seph,” I call out as we run across the sand. Chest heaving, we tear across the beach and make our way home. However, my thoughts are miles away. I’ve come to the decision that I need to see Bella again. I need to understand what this feeling is. Or at least confirm what I think I’m feeling.

Mati is getting ready to leave for the night when I walk in. She’s stacking Seph’s toys and adjusting the couch’s pillows. Seph loves laying on the couch and tossing pillows around.

Stepping into the kitchen, I reach for the water bottle. “Heading out?” I ask.

Mati nods. “Yes, Nona and I are going to church. Tonight is bingo night.”

I chuckle at her comment. “Do you need any money?”

She shakes her head. “I’ll be fine, Logan. I figure it will be something fun to do since Bella is going out tonight. It’s about time that girl does something fun. She’s been moping around for days.”
