I glance down at Bella’s beautiful toffee-colored eyes and pull her close.

She’s mine. I think to myself. When Ewan told me he dropped off Bella in her apartment this morning, I was furious. It wasn’t until Ewan told me that Bella was upset with me over leaving her alone in bed that I realized my mistake. He was also very helpful in giving me some brotherly advice.

We had both finished hearing the man’s confession, and I was preparing to go home to Bella when Ewan stated. “She’s not there, mate. I dropped her off at home this morning.”

“Why the fuck would you do that?” I ask angrily.

Ewan shrugs. “You didn’t tell me to keep her there, so I dropped her off at her apartment. Apparently, she had to go to work. She was a bit upset that you left without talking to her, though.”

I look at my brother then past the windshield. “What do you mean?”
