Alduin's claw slammed down into the Earth as he cautiously watched Thanos. The mad titan also looked like he was considering his chances.
But, considering the fact that there were many of subordinates watching behind him, he could not back down or else he would look like a coward. A burden of a lord, whether good or bad.
She herself, could not join the fight as of this moment. It would be no exaggeration to say that a normal person would have died many times over with the number of injuries she is currently sustaining.
She still had several souls to burn but she needed an active soul that has just gone deceased to accelerate it. She could burn Yhorm's soul, but she holds no desire to burn anyone from Lordran. They have suffered enough.
A good thing was that the soul did not even have to be strong. She could have killed a random insect to just get an active soul, but the problem was there was no living things nearby other than her allies and the mad titan.
She looked over at the two everlasting dragons. They immediately understood what she was trying to say. Falkor flew first to attract cannons to his way while Selph carried her immediately and flew to the spaceships.
If there were no living things around to burn, she simply has to go for the presents Thanos brought for her. The mad titan noticed this and threw over his blade. Despite the fact that he would be bare-handed, he held no qualms.
Of course, the flying blade was easily shot down by Selph. Alduin wasn't sitting still either. He dug his claws into the ground and lifted it up. Entire acres of land all around him flew to the sky. That included the mad titan who seemed so insignificant in the face of an eternal being.
He then swung his tails around, reducing everything that flew up to rubble. Thanos, however, only flew out. He was then greeted by dragon breath to his face. Normally, that should have been more than enough to kill the mad titan. After all, he resembled doll being thrashed around.
But the mad titan has already started regenerating. She could sense cosmic energy gathering in him strengthening him and enchanting his every capability. He stretched his hands out and recalled his blade. He jumped up and went straight to battle with the raging dragon.
Selph and Falkor however, had begun their rampage among the vulnerable spaceships. Thor followed around and Loki was nowhere to be seen. Given his history with Thanos, it was understandable.
Siegward however could not help anymore. After all, his oath has been fulfilled and he was but a mere spirit. Even if he wanted to help, all his attacks would just pass over the living ones.
So, he was just merely sitting down watching them. He was now just waiting to have final words with the keeper before finally going on his way.
As the two dragons kept ramming into spaceships, many different forms of beings flew all over them. Among them was a giant alien that resembled an ape. She grabbed it while still flying.
She used both hands to lift it above her and tear it in half. Its soul was mediocre, but it was enough. The blood and guts that rained down onto her from its torn torso signaled her recovery.
She could finally join the battle against Thanos. Alduin was already starting to fade. After all, only part of him was teleported over. She could not transfer him in his entire might all the way from across the universe. He was only a temporary help.
Of course, he only started fading because of the fact that he was fighting against the overlord of the universe. He joined the two others in rampaging among the spaceships.
"We'll talk later.", he gave her an okay sign in a bored expression before flying up and joining in the 'playing with the ships' game. Where he learnt that gesture, she would later find out. All the everlasting dragons could be clearly seeing doing it with glee.
After all, who doesn't like to abuse vegetables. It was not that the ships were vegetables but there was no difference in the eyes of the dragons. They could all be destroyed with the same difficulty.
If Thanos noticed his troops being slaughtered, he did not show his reaction. She too, was in fact relaxing. After all, compared to the battle with Yhorm, she did not believe the battle with Thanos to be too hard.
He rushed right in front of her and bring down his blade. She parried it using the burial blade. She then proceeds to grab the handles of the double blade with her own blade and threw it away to a far place.
This caught the mad titan off-guard. After all, he did not expect her to go for the blade when he could just summon it back and that is exactly what he did. Just as the blade was coming behind her, she used the scythe to nail it to the ground.
Now, they were both without weapons and she intentionally made it that way. One hit from the blade and it would spell her death. She could sense the blessing of death on that blade, but Thanos wasn't aware of it.
Also, she could not heal if her head is no longer there. Anyway, Thanos with a blade was much more dangerous than Thanos with his bare hands. Also, she prefers bare-handed fights. The titan was strong and fast, but he was still slow compared to her. But, she was weaker.
Essentially, it is just a battle of strength and agility. He started off with a left hook, but she moved back. It was immediately followed by another right hook. She moved back again and returned with two hooks of her own. Both connected with his chin, but he barely looks fazed.
Another right swing once again. She jumped on top of him and rolled off his shoulders. He swung his fists backward, but he missed. They both paused. He held his guard up this time. It was followed by a close jab leaving an opening exposed.
She went for it only to be hit by his knees. These were too close to dodge and too fast to block. They connected. As expected, she flew off and was hit by another punch in the process. The titan was still being strengthened by cosmic energy. That knee could shatter hills.
Her ribcage might have been devasted if it weren't for her coating it in arcane. Still, she took a considerable amount of damage and started healing immediately. Time wasn't on her side. She had to finish this quickly. After all, she has been fighting for days without rest.
Blood started flowing from her mouth. The injuries sustained from Yhorm was still prevalent. She feels her bones burning and her muscles melting. All she want at this moment is to lie down and rest. But, she must finish this as quick as possible.
She also did not use any of her fire powers. Every ounce of her energy went towards sustaining her body and healing her wounds. She dashed straight towards him. A left kick to his lower body that connected. Then a roundhouse kick as a follow. And another kick. In total, all three kicks connected.
This caused him to kneel down a bit, but she wouldn't let that gap go either. The moment he kneeled; his chin was greeted by an uppercut.
Perhaps in a moment of fury, he too made an uppercut. That was a mistake. She threw multiple blows to his exposed rib area caused from the wide blow. She doubts he was affected much due to armor he was wearing.
After that was blow after blow against him. Thanos was strong yes, but every single one of the champions back in Lordran all learns to dodge and roll. Their memories weren't in vain.
Whether it be the chosen undead, the bearer of the curse or the Ashen One, their main move has always been rolling and dodging. She did not think any being from this world would be able to suppress them in that particular field.
She grabbed his bald head. It was way more difficult to grab a bald head than she expected. However, she managed to get a quick knee in before being blasted away by another punch yet again.
"Thy strength does not allow thy head to withhold such magnificent locks, it seems."
He did not say a single reply but his action of rushing straight at her says a lot about how he regards his physical appearance. But it was stopped due to someone coming in between them.
"Woah there, great Thanos. I believe it is time to wrap up your affairs and get off my planet."
It was the grandmaster. He looked as ridiculous as ever. It seems he has returned after dealing with red hood. He did not have a single injury on him as far as she could tell but she reckoned he played a game rather than fought according to his nature.
Thanos stopped to consider for a moment. He then looked upon his 'army' that now resembled toys. He slowly walked towards his blade and moved her scythe. The blade then flew into his hands.
"I will stop today's affairs for now. We shall meet again, keeper. And then, we can discuss our 'matters' once again."
Leaving behind those words, he retreated back. She had no doubt he would come back to her. After all, according to Asgard, Thanos held much more strength than what he had shown today. Today was just a light sparring session for him.
And it also seems like he did not want to offend the Elders of the Universe just yet. She sat down on the ground at the spot. It has truly been a tiring venture. She wishes to rest for now. But first, she has to solve Siegward's affairs and hear Alduin's ever wise words.

This is Chapter 66.
I think I did pretty well on my midterms, and I will be uploading one chapter per day once again.
I know that the Thanos scene was a but anti-climactic, but I see no other ways to end it.
Also, the surveys will close once I upload chapter 70.
Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
