Chapter 063: Ten Consecutive Treasure Chests

It had been a week since Charles Doyle accepted the allegiance of various factions at the Continental Hotel.

During this week, Charles gained the following through the system's daily check-in rewards: 30,000 copper coins, 1 Ninja Recruitment Scroll, 300 reputation points (twice), 50 servings of delicious ramen, 1 Ninjustsu Scroll, and 200 Reincarnation Stones.

In the meantime, Charles successfully linked the New York Continental Hotel's Task Reward Center to his Mission Guild. In just seven days, the Iruka Squad completed ten missions.

Since there were no high-difficulty missions, all ten missions were rated as C-rank missions. This amount of work was more than what Charles had received in previous months.

C-rank missions yielded 500 reputation points, 50,000 copper coins, and 1 regular treasure chest.

Charles, therefore, gained 5,000 reputation points, 500,000 copper coins, and ten regular treasure chests.

Looking at his gains in just one week, Charles couldn't help but exclaim, "Becoming a high-ranking elder, the greatest gain isn't the underlings, status, or control over all of America; it's the continuous stream of missions my ninjas can now undertake!"

He anticipated that it wouldn't take long to reach that goal. He had already conducted 40 ninja recruitments, and with 20 more, he could unlock the option for a guaranteed S-rank ninja fragment in the ten consecutive recruitments.

Although the current option could also yield good ninja, the probability was incredibly low, with mostly C-rank ninja, some B-rank if you were lucky, and occasionally an A-rank if you were really lucky. 

As for getting an S-rank ninja directly in the ten consecutive recruitment, Charles's personal experience from his previous life told him that the odds were astronomically low.

For a guaranteed S-rank ninja fragment, as long as he could find a large number of things that could help in recharging, or make a one-time charge of a huge amount of gold coins, he could stack a powerful S-rank ninja even with fragments.

As he looked at the information displayed on the screen in sequence, Charles gave it a cursory glance. 

The first thing he checked was whether there were any ninja scrolls, but to his disappointment, not a single one of the ten treasure chests contained a ninja recruitment scroll.

Charles Doyle felt quite let down.

Charles began to examine his loot from this round. Four C-rank ninja fragments were not bad, and when added to his previous haul, C-rank ninja Tenten had three fragments, and C-rank ninja Hinata Hyuga had two. 

He was making progress towards recruiting them, but C-rank ninja Iruka Umino and the already fused Sharingan Sasuke Uchiha were still a long way off.

As for the 40 gold coins he had obtained, Charles couldn't help but feel a bit helpless. He was now just 28 gold coins short of purchasing seven ninja recruitment scrolls.

"Sigh..."

Charles sighed, "Stay calm, stay calm. Patience is a virtue. The next ten consecutive ninja recruitment is bound to bring a breakthrough. This time was just a warm-up."

Regarding the gains in reputation and copper coins, Charles didn't pay much attention, as the quantities were relatively low.

During this week, Kingpin hadn't come to issue any missions. He probably wanted to try and solve the problem himself, but the former King of the Bowery District, the Bowery King, had approached John Wick and begged to pledge his loyalty to Charles in the hopes of regaining his throne.

John Wick had asked Charles for advice on this matter, considering that the Bowery King had helped him and even provided him with a handgun. 

After all, if it hadn't been for Bowery King helping him, he wouldn't have incurred the High Table's punishment.

In the end, Charles accepted the Bowery King's allegiance and assigned him a mission: to investigate the activities of the Hand in the Hell's Kitchen and gather all the information about the Hell's Kitchen buildings, including those that were still under construction.

He needed to find out where the dragon bones buried beneath the Hell's Kitchen in New York were hidden.
