I don't regret kissing you

Susan just smiled & said, "Let's go, everyone must be waiting for us".

Samuel smiled back, "It's just us".

Susan gave a suspicious look to him when he explained "I meat that they had to cancel last minute but they wanted us to enjoy Paris & it's beauty. After all, it's the city of Love."

Susan nodded & they left for opera. Susan quite liked it, she got so engrossed that she almost forgot about the presence of Samuel besides her. After the opera, they went for dinner at a roof-top restaurant which offered a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. It was like a dream come true for her .The view was breathtakingly captivating & it naturally a brought a relaxed smile to her face. Seeing her, Samuel couldn't stop admiring her beauty. Then, Samuel thought this was the right time for discuss matters since Susan was happy.

As she was admiring the overall experience , Samuel took a sip of champagne & started, "Susan I have some important stuff to discuss with you."

"I know, regarding the deal with HAF LIMITED next week. I have got everything prepared, I was about to discuss with you."

Samuel presses his finger on her lips to stop her, "Can you please come out of you workaholic mode, it seems you have turned into a machine these days with no emotion left?"

"It's true I wanted to groom you like me since I saw lots of potential in you, but you have surpassed me now. Even I take a break & enjoy things around. Look around, does this really seem like a business set-up where we are going to discuss work?"

Susan felt stupid when she looked around. She could see couples holding hands, fondling with each other. But at once, she sensed danger. If not work, then what important stuff did Samuel wanted to discuss here.

Samuel removed his finger from her lips but looked straight into her eyes. "I wanted to discuss about the kiss."

Susan was dumbfounded.

"Well initially, I wanted to forget it & behave like nothing happened between us.I am sure even if you wanted to talk about it before, seeing my reaction you might have decided against it. I felt it was sorted out between us silently but lately I realized that how much I tried, I can't behave as if nothing happened.

Truth is I did feel a connection with you & so I could just lose myself in you.I don't love you yet, but I know there is something between us. I can't express what you are to me but I feel happy with you around me . "

Susan silently listened, she was not sure where this conversation would head to & so she didn't speak anything.

"Susan, I meant to tell you that the kiss was special to me and it was not just one of those common occurrences in my life. But I do want to know your take on it. Whether you want to move on like nothing happened between us or you want us to explore the dynamics we both have. Anything , I would respect your view & decision."

Susan realized it was her turn to speak now, she was in dilemma whether to trust this man & confess her feelings or move on. She was playing with the spoon when Samuel could see her nervous and said, "Don't worry, anything you decide won't impact your career in anyway. You are a true talent & my company wouldn't like to lose you at any cost."

After what seemed like a lifetime, Susan spoke ,"Samuel, it's true I like you. I like you a lot. You won't believe but you are first kiss for me. But again , you are the CEO. How can we both explore the dynamics between us , isn't it against the company policies that boss & his junior can't be in a relationship. Either one of us have to resign then. And I can't risk my job at this position.The kiss was special to me as well but I think we both need to stop here."

Samuel thought about what Susan said, she had a point. Even he was thinking on same grounds .A thought strike him.

Next day, Susan didn't hear or see Samuel. She got to know that Samuel had left early morning & shall return by late evening. They had their flight next day. Post breakfast, she thought of exploring Paris by herself & left the hotel. Once she returned back to her room, she freshen up and as soon as she switched on TV , their was breaking news flashing across all channels.

Samuel, CEO of Amazing Fireworks stepped down for sometime due to health issues. His cousin Dalton shall be serving as the Interim CEO till Samuel returns to work.

Susan felt concern about Samuel, what would have happened for him to step down.Till last night, he was all fine. Just then, there was a knock on the door. Samuel stood with flowers on his hand, all smiling. As soon as Susan opened the door, he hugged her tightly while closing the doors behind him. Then, he handed over the flowers to her.

Susan looked all clueless, when Samuel said, "I will explain everything later, but I wanted to tell you that I don't regret kissing you before & I will not regret kissing you now".

Before Susan could comprehend his words, Samuel lips were already on hers.
