"The result is out!" Jeya exclaimed as she scrolls through her laptop. Upon hearing her words, Kanalaa swiped through her phone calmly to look for the result.

Jeya has been waiting for the bar exam's result. Of course not only she is anticipating her name on the list but also Kanalaa's. They've been through thick and thin in college and law school, no one should be left behind. She knows no one will be but she can't help but feel anxious for Kanalaa who was so relaxed and not a bit bothered.

Even before Kanalaa can see the list, Jeya already shaken her to the core, literally and with her voice.

"Omg!!! You're the top one, baby girl!"

Jeya can't stop herself but scream to the top of her lungs while she caged Kanalaa on her tight hug, feeling ecstatic.

"Really?" Kanalaa asked doubting it.

She did not doubt she will pass but to be number one? That's something she did not anticipated. She assumed in her mind she'll be part of the topnotchers but not the number one. She knows there are far greater than her but the only thing she can't think is if it's meant for you, it will happen.

"Yes! Omg! We are now licensed!"

Jeya still being overwhelmed freed Kanalaa and jumped again and again and again like a child. Not only she passed but also a part of the topnotchers.

With trembling hands and sweaty palms, Kanalaa scroll through the list and her tears raced to fall.

Finally, something rewarding after the chaotic events, Kanalaa thought.

With tears still in Kanalaa's eyes, she watched her friend rummaged through the refrigator picking up liquors while dancing like a madwoman. Kanalaa can't help but released a hearty laugh with the silliness of her friend.

Both have been staying in a hotel for a few days and nights now for this very moment. Kanalaa knows that the sky will be the limit in their celebration today.

She wiped her tears then joined Jeya who prepared shot glasses and bottles of hard liquors. One shot was followed one after another. Seems like they will really drown tonight.

...

Already tipsy, Jeya and Kanalaa still ended up in a private club. Wearing red short backless dress paired with high heels, Kanalaa graced the club. As carefree as she is, Jeya pulled Kanalaa to sit on the vip section in a hurry not wanting to kill their momentum of fun.

Meanwhile, bachelors' eyes can't help but followed the two ladies including the man who knows Kanalaa pretty well. Exuding his manly and strong aura, he watched Kanalaa like a hawk. With his grey pair of eye, he watches every move Kanalaa makes. If looking can undress someone, she would have been naked the moment he laid his gaze on her. He didn't like the idea of Kanalaa wearing the kind of dress yet he loved it. As much as he wants to grab her out of this place and be in his room just the two of them, he knows he can't. Not wanting to make any mistake, he downed his drink then left the club. After settling in his car, he called his men instead to look after Kanalaa.

...

Kanalaa having fun with Jeya can't help but to look around because of an unsettling gaze. She feels like someone is eyeing her and it burns the back of her neck. However, even with effort she found nothing.

"I must be drunk." She muttered then chuckled thinking it's just the liquor.

"What?!" Jeya asked in a louder voice because of the loud beat playing around the club.

"Nothing! I just like someone was watching me!" Kanalaa said then took a drink totally dropping the thought.

"Of course! Every men there is in here have been watching us, especially you!"

Jeya's exaggerated reply that she even pointed around then to Kanalaa while stating the words to prove a point that her friend just stated the obvious thing. She then giggled finely.

Hours went by and the two good friends are still having fun. At this moment, Jeya is in front of Kanalaa sexy dancing and flirting with her. Jeya's hands are all over Kanalaa's shoulder and hair while grinding her hips in the air. While, Kanalaa is laughing and having with Jeya's craziness and even returning the deeds by returning the touches Jeya was giving to her. This clearly shows how drunk they are but it seems like no one and nothing can stop them.

To them, this the most awaited reward they deserve after sacrificing years of their youth to do well in academe and do well in their career.

...

Kanalaa woke up with a strong sunlight coming through the huge glass wall. She mindlessly tried to cover the walls but the curtain didn't budge. With a head throbbing, growling stomach, and diziness, she tried to see well the curtains. She realized the curtains are electrically manipulated. With the realization, she tilted her head a bit thinking about it but she can't rummage her brain as it was Jeya who opens and close the curtains during their stay in the hotel.

She tried to stride through the room but the hangover is stronger than her will to cover the huge glass wall that she cannot bear it anymore. She then went to the bathroom, undressed, butt naked let the cold water drip from her head to toes.

A couple minutes under the cold shower only then she realized something is not right.

"this... this is not our room. Is it?" She trailed trying to think deeply.

With the thought that came in her mind, she immediately turned off the shower and grab the robe to cover her nakedness. She went out of the bathroom to look at their room clearly. She only then recognized how different the room she's in.

The bedroom is spacious with lamps, bed side table and even a couch. This seems to be suite but it is much bigger than the suite Kanalaa has ever been that she thinks it might be a presidential suite rather.

Her heart rythm hastened with the realization thinking she might ended up with some creepy stranger. She went back to the bed she slept on and there she found Jeya; that calmed her. She scanned the room and only then it clicked in her mind that they do not have a glass wall on their place but this one has that's why suddenly the curtains are electronic. They are definitely in a different room or hotel.

She searched for her purse and found it on the couch. Both of her purse and Jeya's are properly laid on the couch; their heels on the side of the bed.

In Kanalaa's mind, she is convinced that someone brought them here. There's no way they can keep their things neatly.

She went out of the room to find a panoramic view in the living area similar to the glass wall of the bedroom and the other side of the room with dining space.

Without wasting time, Kanalaa went back to the bedroom and worn her dress and put her hair in a messy bun. Wearing hotel's slippers, she went straight to the receptionist.

As soon as Kanalaa reached the lobby, she wasted no time and immediately approached the receptionist.

"Hello, good morning. May I ask you a question?" She asked casually however her voice like usual sounded softly.

"Good morning, madam. How may I help you?" The receptionist politely responded with radiant smile plastered on her lips.

"Uh, were you the one who received us last night? If only you remember me," Kanalaa asked, her brow furrowed in uncertainty.

"Unfortunately, it wasn't me, ma'am. We are on a shifting schedule. I just took over this early morning. But, I will still try to help you," the receptionist replied with a sympathetic smile.

"I believe you have records of payments and names of those who availed rooms. If you could just tell me if there's any name like Kanalaa Reese or Jeya Kim. We probably got here before past midnight. Well, if that helps," Kanalaa explained, her voice tinged with frustration.

"I can look at that. Please, give me a second," the receptionist said, typing swiftly on the computer keyboard.

"I'm sorry, but there's no room under the names you've given," the receptionist informed Kanalaa, apologetic.

"How about whose name is under room 1001?" Kanalaa pressed, her patience wearing thin.

"It's confidential, madam. I sincerely apologize," the receptionist responded firmly.

"It's not when it is our room," Kanalaa retorted, growing increasingly exasperated.

The receptionist showed hesitance on her face. While Kanalaa understands that she might be implicated, she can't helpt but lose patience.

"If you are doubting me, here's the keycard. If you want, you can come with me and check if I'm telling the truth. I just need to know," she added, holding out the keycard.

"Okay, I believe you, madam, but keep this with us only," the receptionist conceded, taking the keycard with a nod of understanding.

"Thank you," Kanalaa said with a relieved sigh, grateful for the receptionist's cooperation.

The receptionist handed out the single name who checked-in around the given time and type of room. It was unfamiliar to Kanalaa. Kanalaa even asked for the payment method, if it was a card, that could help. Unfortunately, it was paid in cash that confirmed they weren't the ones who checked themselves in because neither she nor Jeya carry cash when going out.

The receptionist nodded, acknowledging Kanalaa's gratitude. "Is there anything else I can assist you with, madam?"

Kanalaa shook her head. "No, that's all for now. I'll just head back to our room and figure things out from there."

"Of course. If you need any further assistance, don't hesitate to let me know," the receptionist offered with a polite smile.

"Will do. Thank you again," Kanalaa said, offering a small smile in return before turning to leave the front desk area.

Kanalaa entered the bedroom to wake up Jeya so they could get back to their original hotel. However, she heard the down pour of the shower and found her friend nowhere on bed.

She knocked on the bathroom door and asked, "Is the room so nice you didn't even look for me?"

"Saw your things so I didn't panic!" Jeya screamed back.

She left the room without saying any more and decided to just make coffee for them that way they can leave once they're done.

...

After Jeya's shower, Kanalaa told her about what their room. Steven Smith is an unfamiliar name to them. Although the first and last name is very generic, they know no one with that name. They concluded that it was maybe one from the club.

Although that's how they wanted to end it, Kanalaa can't help but still figure because whoever sent them to the hotel is not an employee because how can one pay for an expensive room? She also erased the thought that it is some random guy from the club because how can someone pay an expensive suite for girls without gaining anything. Yet, one can be very kind, yet that one won't waste money on a presidential suite, standard room, maybe.

On her mind, it is someone they know. But for now, she decided to drop the idea and focus more on much important things.
