Pursue

Locking my eyes on them as they strode away from the cafeteria. They kept talking to each other nervously. Whatever was bugging them was pushing them into a fast walk as well. I stayed back but kept my eyes on the two of them as I followed them.

"What are you doing?" Savannah asked from two paces behind me.

"Following them," I answered.

"Yes," Savannah was probably frowning right now, "But why are you following them?"

"They were acting funny," I didn't want to go into detail.

"Again," Savannah was starting to sound as irritated as she felt, "Why?"

"Honestly?" I kept my voice monotone as they headed towards the second year building, "Something is up with this school. I want to find out what it is before it bites me later."

"So you're planning on picking a fight?" Savannah's disappointment came through our connection.

"You want complete, and total honesty," I snorted as I tried to keep my eyes on my prey, "I still have impulse control problems, and I wanted to channel it towards something productive." I paused, "While making myself stronger at the same time."

"How would picking a fight make you stronger?" Savannah was still irritated with me, but now there was some confusion mixed in.

"Every time I get hit it takes a little more to do damage to me," I chuckled, "If I fight I'll take hits. If I make the school a better place for the weaker students then that's a bonus."

"I haven't seen anyone getting bullied," Savannah looked confused by my motivation.

"I've been to ten different schools in my life," I tensed as displeasure flowed through me, "If you don't see it then it's usually worse because when they can hide what they're doing, the beatings are usually much worse. All they have to do to keep their targets from stepping out of line is beat them again. There was even a kid that died at one of those schools. No ability to protect him, and no teachers taking the time to keep an eye on him. He got beat to death at the back of the school one day because he didn't bring his card with him. The one that had his weekly allowance on it. Didn't take much. He hadn't had a decent meal in months. Since he'd been giving all his food money to the guys that killed him. His bones broke like they were made of glass. Worst part was. The teachers complained about how their taxes paid for the kids funeral since he was an orphan like me."

"There's no way that you're old enough to have been to ten schools already," Savannah doubted what I was saying.

"Tell me," I started moving forward again, "Does it feel like I'm lying?"

I was done with this conversation for now. Stopping far enough away from them to avoid getting noticed. I checked my surroundings to make sure there wasn't anyone watching me then turning to face the wall. I couldn't change my bodies shape with anyone around so I limited the changes to my face. I altered my appearance quickly making myself look more like someone of Asian descent.

Even going as far as to lighten my skin tone a few shades. The look on Ethan, and Savannah's faces were priceless when I turned around.

"Don't worry," I thought about putting on some sort of persona, "They won't recognize me. I'll change my personality a bit to fool them even better."

I forced a friendly smile. Savannah, and Ethan both looked, and felt a bit creeped out by this change.

"Relax," I dropped the smile, "I'll go back to normal when I'm done." I started heading for my prey, "Wait here."

It was sheer luck that they seemed to be waiting for someone. I would have lost them otherwise. I didn't have to sneak around while I was wearing this face. System save this face as wind persona for later use.

Current appearance has been saved by the system as wind persona.

People wouldn't be able to find me around if they didn't see my normal face when I was fighting.

"What are you two doing?" I forced a friendly smile.

"Who are you?" the taller one of the two asked.

His dull brown hair, and nervous look only confirmed that these two were what I was looking for.

"No one special," I chuckled, "Now I've answered your question. It's your turn to answer mine."

"We're just hanging out," the shorter one started getting angry, "It's none of your business."

A nervous kind of angry.

"Waiting for your boss to come pick up the credits you've collected?" I widened my smile a bit more, "Or just waiting for your daily gut punch to remind you of who's in charge? Maybe both?"

"Shut up," the short one lunged at me.

I sidestepped him quickly, and use wind burst to toss him like a rag doll. He landed hard enough to knock the wind out of him. The other guy started to charge towards me. My hand went strait to his throat, and tensed just enough for it to be hard for him to breath.

"Don't attack me," I leaned in close with that false smile still plastered to my face, "And I won't attack you." I waited for a few seconds, "Blink if you're ready to behave."

He blinked, and I let go slowly.

"Good boy," I liked the way he squirmed under my gaze, "Now I want to kick the ass of the guy in charge of you two. Point him out for me when he gets here. You can even tell him I'm looking for him for all I care."

I backed away slowly as I debated on what to do if they decided not to do what they were told. I couldn't beat them like their bad boss man. That would spread the wrong message. I guess I could just let them go, and catch them at a different time when I was wearing a different face. My muscles tensed as I watched, and waited.
