It didn't take us long to make our way over to the rest of the delegation. There were three hastily trained wyvern riders sitting in decent temporary saddles. Aqua strode up to take her position at the front of the formation. Her confidence in what she both wanted, and needed to do was somewhat humorous. I reached up, and scratched between her horns.
She leaned into the contact. Clearly enjoying it. The Wyverns each had two black rings on their horns. These were all spatial storage devices. They were different then the one I had since they could resize to fit the wearer.
I kind of liked my simpler storage device. Unlike the ones on the wyverns it didn't have the same metallic sheen as they did. They used very little dragon scale, and more metal. They were also smaller then the one I had, and could be accessed by someone who didn't posses mana. There wasn't very much in them, but that didn't matter.
We had enough supplies to feed all the humans in our group with ease. Jax, and Sekka as well as Aaron, and his mother were all staying behind to maintain order while we were gone. Even Letty was only sending about half of himself along with us although you wouldn't be able to tell that simply by looking at him. The fact that he had the appearance of a teenage albino seemed to put the humans around us at ease. There were a few slaves among the group that just wanted to return to their old lives as well as several of Elisa's subordinates.
From the look of it a few of them were planning to do the same as the rescued human slaves. The intent was to send the wyverns back as soon as they deposited their cargo. We'd only need three or four of them at most, and Aqua could call them back with ease if we needed it. I waited patiently for the people that were coming to get themselves in place on the wyverns backs. Ethan was coming as my bodyguard.
Aurora didn't seem to mind leaving her youngest bonded behind. I knew that wasn't the way she really felt since he was the one she was the closest with by far, but he was safer here. There was no way for her to argue with that fact. Once we were all ready I was the one to lead the group skyward. We had a long flight ahead of us.
Letty didn't actually ride any of the wyverns. He just kind of seemed to stand on the air as he was propelled forward just as fast as the wyverns. We quickly fell into a slow relaxed pace. Wyverns couldn't fly as fast as I could, and Savannah had driven home the importance of arriving as a unified group so I got to relax into a slow pace. I was bigger then I had been the last time I'd carried my riders as well.
It almost felt as if they weren't there at all. It was long, and boring travel. We stopped to rest the group regularly. Each time when there wasn't land for us to rest on I would create a large ice platform for us to rest on. Each time we rested I would hunt.
Each time I hunted Letty chose a different restriction on how I would hunt. Stay in human form. Don't use my arms. Don't use my wings. Use only this element.
Use only this specific kind of spell. Every time it was a different number of beasts, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't challenging. Each time he would send me after prey that would be a bit of a pain to hunt normally. Not exactly a challenge, but nothing I could kill with a single hit. I was actually kind of surprised that there were a large number of beasts in the oceans.
These beasts crossed freely between their own world, and earth. Hunting down the easier prey here before returning to the own world to prevent themselves from growing ill from mana poisoning. It was actually kind of frightening to find so many creatures of such power down there in the depths. Especially since they were some of the weakest beasts on their respective planets. Nothing that was the top of the food chain would simply cross into a poisonous world just for the fun of it.
They didn't have to. I wouldn't leave earth if I had another choice. I would curl up in my own little territory, and ignore the world. Hunting as needed, and spending time with Aurora. Maybe I'd bring a few offspring into the world at some point.
With a lifespan like my own I really wasn't in any hurry. Even though Ethan had inherited a good chunk of my soul, and power even he couldn't live past four hundred. Which was an incredible lifespan for a human, but less then half the maximum lifespan of a dragon. The oldest dragon on record had lived to be one thousand three hundred, and thirty-four years old. The drakelings born with pure cores had a good chance of living even longer.
Purifying the poisons out of the world would eventually extend the lifespans of all creatures on those worlds. Now that my core had healed I was absolutely brimming with vitality. I may have cut my lifespan down with how much damage I'd done, but I would probably still live close to a thousand years anyway. I imagined that the dragons of the past had a mentality similar to my own. Don't be ass, and leave me alone, and we're good.
I didn't even mind if someone crossed through my territory as long as they didn't harm anything of mine. It was no wonder they'd separated themselves from humans who liked to take at will. I imagined just a few angered dragons would have led to a complete change in their behavior. My goal was for that not to happen again. I wanted a proper alliance between the humans, and dragons.
