She seemed slightly fearful as my eyes rested on her. I snarled when a noise in the forest caught my attention. I flared my wings. My obvious bestial behavior was a change for them. I'd been calm, and humane this entire time.

Goliath's hand went to the handle of his sword. I sniffed the air. Dragons didn't have a good sense of smell, but that didn't get rid of the impulse. I changed my vision quickly. The heat of the beasts of the forest shined out to me.

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

"We should check it anyway," I glanced at Goliath.

He nodded, and I reverted back to my true form. Lowering myself to allow Goliath up on my back. My scales raised as I spread my wings. I leapt into the air. My wings buffering the people bellow me with air.

They flinched, and stepped back to get better footing. Goliath was ready for the lurch. I flew above the trees. The snow was slowly becoming less dense around Wyatt. He was turning what was once a frozen forest into a thriving green land.

Nearly the entire mile of land encircling Wyatt had turned lush, and green. The spread of the green was accelerating. There was nothing out of place that caught my attention. I snorted as I crossed into the snow out of the green zone. It was kind of boring.

I moved further out. Looking for something out of place. Anything out of place would be an indicator of the battle to come. My wings held our weight well. I found it to be good exercise. I had two bonded to carry into battle, and wanted a third.

I needed to be able to handle their weight. My wings burned pleasantly. I flicked my tail as I turned in flight. I headed back to the camp. There wasn't anything unusual that I could find right now.

Even if I did find something that didn't mean I'd be able to handle it in a fight. I circled back to the camp calmly. Landing close to the tents Goliath had forced them to setup. I didn't like being in the inner circle. Wyatt's pulse was waking me up each, and every time it went out.

If I was further away from him I could settle back down, and fall asleep. My wings settled along my sides as I curled up to rest. Eliza's group stayed along the outer edge on the opposite side as me. Copper stayed in Bryce's tent since he was still small enough to do that. His bond to the blacksmith was quite strong even though it was still fairly new.

Some of his scales had started falling out yesterday. I halfway expected them all to come out like mine had, but he was stubbornly holding onto his baby scales. He had been for about a month now. I flicked my tail. I looked over to Eliza's tent.

I wanted her to come back over here. I'd already decided that I would make her mine as soon as I could.

It was time for the battle again. Magnus was headed toward the dragon finally. Three months the beast had laid idle. Two months he'd worked to plan it all out. I was pretty sure he'd spoken with my master since he was incredibly vague on how we would get inside of the forbidden zone.

The shuttles were ready to move out. All the soldiers were loading into the large shuttles. Four shuttles with fifty men each. That was two hundred men ready to advance on the dragon. Someone had built defenses around where he lay.

They were preparing for us. The question was who was creating the defenses. There were several beasts spotted near where he lay as well as several humans, but beyond that it was difficult to track moving targets via satellite with so much mana interfering with the images. We could barely tell that the dragon was still laying there with how much interference he was creating. My muscles tensed as I walked into a shuttle full of soldiers.

They were all potential enemies if they figured out what I was mixed with. I sat down, and locked myself in quickly. Hesitating when we were moving out would just draw attention. I flinched when the shuttle left the ground. These advanced shuttles rode really smooth.

Once they were off the ground. Getting off the ground was a bit rough considering. I ran my fingers back through my hair. I didn't like it in these death traps. I'd much rather take the three second trip through a portal.

At least then it would be over quickly. The shuttle didn't really feel like it was moving. My weak sense of spatial awareness could clearly tell that it was moving. I'd sucked at using the spatial element. Darkness was the element I aligned with the best.

I'd taken to fire as well. Space wasn't really my forte. I was the only one that had managed to awaken the spatial element among the slaves. The fact that I was a half breed was considered a negative. It hadn't taken long for them to throw me into training, and alter my ears.

Two years later I was embedded in the human military as a spy. I sighed at the thought. They took my mother away, and handed me a magic stone linked to my mother that would pulse in time with her heart. My master had another that if crushed would stop her heart. He literally had her life in his hands, and could kill her the moment I disobeyed in any way shape or form.

It was one of the reasons I was so stressed at the moment. My master hadn't attempted to contact me in over a month. That meant he wasn't looking for a report. If he didn't need a report that meant he had all the information he wanted for now. If he continued to get all the info he wanted then he might dispose of me.
