Hal Jordan was summoned by the top brass called Guardians as they needed every hand at bay for fight against the might of Larfreeze possessed by Parallax. They received news that the bounty hunter has failed and the target toyed with Lobo and beat him to pulp.

"I would ask your opinion on this "Vigilante" character, Green Lantern Hal Jordan." said Ganthet.

Hal Jordan took a deep breathe and said "He is too powerful to send Green Lantern's against him. Though he doesn't hurt innocents but I need to warn you that he knows about sector 666 and doesn't like you guys at all. 

Don't try to make an enemy out of him because once he sets his target on you then there is no escape. He comes with the intention to kill rather than toy with you."

"What has the league done to stop him and why do I sense that you are asking us to stay away from him?" asked scar.

"He defeated the league again and again without breaking a sweat. You might think he is just an ordinary interstellar criminal but that is not the case. He is capable of wiping out not only Green Lanterns but also Guardians without even putting an effort. The only silver lining is that he doesn't kill those who redeem themselves or those who regret their actions. But I ask the guardians not to provoke him directly or indirectly because I say with certainty that he will kill you guys." Hal explained without hiding anything.

"You underestimate our power Green Lantern of earth. The bounty hunter is just one guy but it doesn't mean he is capable of taking on the entire corps." said Sayd.

"I would advise the Guardians to think it out before making a decision to send the corps because the situation right now is not ideal for targeting such a guy with Orange Lanterns causing immense losses to the corp." advised Hal.

The Guardians looked at one another and said "This requires further discussion between the Guardians so I would ask you to wait outside and we will reveal our verdict after the discussion."

Hal nodded and went outside. He waited outside for an hour as there was heated discussion that went inside when Guardians made a decision.

He was summoned inside and Ganthet replied "The Guardians have decided to postpone sending the GL corps to earth until the Orange Lanterns and Parallax are dealt with. As soon as the immediate threat is gone, the guardians of sector 2814 are to perform a joint mission to capture or eliminate the figure named "Vigilante"".

Hal Jordan was not happy and had an uneasy expression. He saw first hand how powerful "Vigilante" is and he also knows that Guardians are playing with a dangerous entity that will come with intention to kill. The entity doesn't see Guardians in positive light and has already expressed the disdain for the Guardians.

Hal made his way out dejected as he is worried about his comrades in GL corps of sector 2814 because he can be sure that Vigilante won't kill them but he is capable of making sure that they won't bother him again by inflicting chronic damages.

"I need to inform the league about this. There is going to be a lot of chaos in the upcoming days." thought Hal as he made way back to earth.

In watchtower...

The core members except Batman and GL are seated and all the other members are watching the meeting happening as they are also made to interact this time.

"What's the situation in Central City? I heard that Captain Cold made an escape from your grasp after the robbery." said Cyborg.

"I don't know how but it seems the villains have somehow came to know that bet between us and "Vigilante". That's the reason why they are resorting to small violence's instead of life loss or other heinous crimes." said Flash after he sent some of his clones to alternate realities to find the true identity of vigilante but turning up empty handed.

"So, Vigilante doesn't exist in other realities but only here and that means that he is a guy who appeared out of nowhere in this reality for some purpose. I think an irregularity has appeared in our world." said Jonn Jonz.

"That's for sure. I have verified all the cyberspace for any clue regarding our perp but he doesn't seem to have any presence in it which is suspicious." said Cyborg.

"Hmm? How?" asked WW.

"Usually guys like these need funds to continue on with Vigilante activities and that means there must be financial transactions to weapons companies for procuring material for his suit. Even if we take into account that he is using his personal account which belongs to a company. there needs to be some kind of account statement but there is not one transaction in the cyberspace point towards it. He has not only wiped out the trail but also cleaned out the presence of the trail for making other unable to track him down which is rather suspicious." said Cyborg.

Vishal who was watching through cosmic awareness from his home growled "Asshole. That's breach of privacy and you don't have the authority to do that. Damn hypocrites talking about me lacking authority to kill criminals and them breaching the same authority whenever they want."

"Technomancy sure did help a lot in wiping out the complete trail towards me otherwise these assholes would have caused trouble. Thanks for the warning system buddy." said Vishal.

"I aim to please host." said the system.

"So, you're saying we're back to square one huh?" asked Superman.

"Yes. I think we should concentrate on the bet instead of tracking him down now. Though I think now Vigilante's own killing spree has become an advantage for us." said Cyborg.

"No." came a voice.

The members recognized their voice and saw the figure approaching opening the door. 

"Bruce?" asked Clark.

"Yes. The healing chambers helped me recover and Nightwing did a great job keeping Gotham safe during these months." said Batman.

"Welcome back." said WW.

"It's good to be back. As for the bet I ask you guys not to take it lightly." said Batman.

"Why?" asked Flash.

"Why would Vigilante give up his advantage of the decrease in crime rate to us?" asked Batman.

Jonn narrowed his eyes and said "That's a good point. Vigilante knows something we don't know and no one would make a bet which would be disadvantageous to themselves."

Other members fell into thought after Batman and Jonn's words. 

Green Arrow came through the video and said " Guys it might be something related to what Flash has said."

Batman nodded and said "He must know that something is going to happen in near future that would assure his victory in the bet."

Vigilante who was watching Batman's deduction through cosmic awareness said "Yeah, since I will be silent for these 2 years, you won't even know what is going to happen and I won't even give you a chance to find out. 

You need to see to know the consequences of your failures Batman. Joker is the first and the biggest failure of your life. As the Punisher said "You and that giggling idiot deserve each other". I did not understand that while I was reading it many years ago but now I understand that as long as Joker exists he will always inflict a lot of pain to you one way or another."

"You are behaving like a villain host. You're supposed to be an anti hero." said the system.

"Did I say anything wrong?" asked Vishal.

"No host you're right but the way you are taking happiness in the suffering of Batman is making you look like a villain." said the system.

"I agree. I went a little overboard but the point still stands. The failure of both the justice system and Batman to stop him permanently is the scenario which will lead to Injustice where millions are killed in Nuclear attack orchestrated by Joker." said Vishal.

"Since I am bound to not interfere I can only make some meaningful changes. First saving Lois Lane and the child in her womb. Second I need to make sure that innocent people of Metropolis and those who regret their actions in prisons there be saved. Third I need to stand my ground against the two factions with help of guys on my side." said Vigilante.

"That's a great plan and since tomorrow you are going to take the first step in recruiting allies." said the system.

"Yes. Jason and the outlaws will stand with me and that's a guarantee. I can recruit Huntress and make sure that she doesn't die by recruiting her to the third faction. I need to recruit some members from Doom Patrol since Superman will enforce peace all over the world.

I will have to travel to other countries and recruit some of the heroes who can accept our way of doing things." said Vishal.

System agreed with his words.

"Since Vigilante is going to stay away for the next two years, we can't even derive the reason why he proposed such a bet. Let's make sure that something unexpected doesn't happen which will blind side us and since I am the only one who did not sign the agreement then I am the only one who can move freely against him among the core members.

Let's go back to monitoring our cities and shouldn't give any chance to increase the number of deaths by a lot." said Batman.

The league decided to do what they do best and focused on their cities.

""Our cities". This fool doesn't understand that it is because of this reason Joker succeeded and they are making the same mistake.

That piece of shit called "Batman" doesn't allow superheroes to enter Gotham because he wanted to show people that even common man can fight against crime. I agree with it up to some extent but if a villain like "Mr. Mxzyptlk" or "Vandal Savage" were to make a move, the city would be utterly helpless." Vishal said nodding in frustration at Batman's behavior.

After sometime he stopped looking and began packing for his journey. He is also taking "Carla" as his secretary. Their first destination is "Australia".

The next day he picked Carla from her house and they were both dropped in Airport. They boarded the plane and Vishal said "Let's also have some fun together aside from business".

She smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder and the flight took off.
