Inter High 1

"Haaa…"

Haruto was in his room heaving a breath out as he just finished his stretches. Today was the first day of Inter high and he woke up earlier than usual to get a light jog in and finish off his morning with a stretch.

He wanted to be in good condition for the day since this would be his first official Highschool game since the matches he played so far were just practice ones.

He ate his breakfast of toasted bread and fruits and made his way to the door so that he could meet with his team as they had to leave early to reach the gymnasium in time.

While he was close to the front of the schoolhe saw a black figure running quickly towards him.

Haruto squinted his eyes and saw it was Kageyama.

"Haruto, the last one there will have to buy strawberry milk for the other person." Kageyama yelled as he dashed by him.

Haruto was slightly frozen by his words but then dashed his way to the meeting spot to not lose to Kageyama. As they were racing another person joined and finally they reached the spot.

"Pheww seems like I won this time as well." Haruto wiped the sweat off his head and smiled victoriously at the two people gasping for air on the ground.

"Bastard, I even had a head start." Kageyama got up as well as Hinata and waited for the rest of the team to come.

"Are you guys ready?" Haruto asked and the two guys nodded their heads. Hinata doesn't seem to be as nervous since he has some kind of idea who he will play against but Haruto was still worried if his stomach can handle the bus ride.

After waiting for a bit the other members arrived and they started to board the bus that will take them to Sendai City Gymnasium. Haruto clenched his fist as anticipation grew inside him.

"Shiratorizawa pretty much guaranteed to win the whole thing right?"

"I'm not sure yet. Aoba Johsai seems to be a good match since they have Oikawa on their team."

Near the entrance of the gymnasium a few guys wearing a light blue and white jersey can be seen talking about the match ups while looking at the match up board. A bus arrived at the front and players in black jerseys walked out, gaining the attention of the people around them.

"Hey aren't they Karasuno, the 'Fallen Champions'?"

"They kinda look intimidating, especially the one with the gruff on his chin.."

Whispers could be heard as they walked through the entrance. The last sentence caused a certain person in the group to take damage to which the people around this patted his shoulder.

"Woah isn't that Chidoriyama's Nishinoya who won the best libero in the inter middle tournament.?"

"There's also Kitagawa Daiichi's 'King of the Court'... what made him go to Karasuno.."

Players started to look at Kageyama causing him to glare back but was hit on the head by Haruto who was beside him.

"Sorry for that." Haruto gave a smile to them and dragged Kageyama away before he could scare other people with his scowl.

"Wait wasn't that Watanabe who's called the 'Rising Ace' since he has been rising the ranks of top scorers during Junior High."

"Who knew he also went to Karasuno, wait doesn't their team already look pretty strong?"

Leaving the gossip happening in the crowd, Haruto and his team made their way into a spot where they can change into their uniforms. He took off his track sweater and was already wearing a long sleeve compression shirt.

"You seem very prepared to play today Haruto." Daichi smiled as Haruto was putting on his jersey with the number 13 on it.

"I guess so but not as much as him." Haruto pointed at Kageyama who was in the corner looking at his fingernails and filling them down so they were to his liking. Haruto and Daichi looked at him and felt like he was oddly meticulous about the strangest things.

"Alright guys! Let's do our warmups since our first game will start in 20 minutes." Ukai called out and everyone made their way into the large gym starting to feel the atmosphere of their first game against Tokonami High School.

A long group of people yelled out as they lined up to officially start the inter high matches.

"The Fallen Champions or flightless crows is what we are known as now... But you guys are strong, stronger than ever! So make sure to show them that we are no longer fallen champions anymore." Takeda spoke out among the loud cheers going around them.

"Let's show them!"

The whistle blew and both teams made their way into their starting positions. They had lost the first serve so they will be the ones on the receiving end. Haruto was in the 5th position and opposite of Asahi.

This is so that when they get the point, Haruto will be able to rotate directly to the front court.

The other team gave a standard overhand serve and Haruto got into place to pass it perfectly to Kageyama.

'Who should I use to start us off..' Kageyama who was under the ball thought in his head as the first strike can greatly boost their morale while also scare off their opponents.

'He should be a good choice.' Kageyama gave a back set towards Asahi and he did his approach jumping up in the air. Two blockers in front of him went up but he was able to smash the ball right through their blocks.

"Woah what power.."

"I guess it is expected from an adult right?"

"I heard he was the infamous 5th year who was held back.."

The spectators marveled at Asahi's hit and also whispered rumors that they heard. Asahi felt like coughing blood and the people on the court gave him another pat on the shoulder.

Asahi went to the serving line and did his serve.

"Got it!"

"Ikejiri-san, Here!

The opponents passed the ball and gave a set to their outside hitter. Daichi and Tsukishima lined up for the block while Haruto was ready to follow up off the block.

"Touch"

Tsukishima touched the ball making it go to the back row. Nishinoya quickly got under the ball and passed it towards the setter where Kageyama gave a toss to Haruto.

Haruto looked at the ball and slowly made his approach and then quickly accelerated, having his shoulders relaxed. He jumped up and made his body face the setter while bringing his elbow back.

'Low..' Haruto thought in his head as he saw the blockers in front and twisted his body generating power making his arm as a whip.

*Boom

The ball was hit above the blockers and made its way touching their opponents floor.

"Haruto Nice Kill!!" His team surrounded him and gave each other high fives. Haruto looked at his palm and closed it, remembering the feeling. He went back to his position to get ready for another play.

Asahi served again and the opponents this time gave a set to their opposite hitter in front of Haruto. Him and Tsukishima did their approach for blocking before stopping completely and jumping up.

The hitter was intimidated by the huge block and tried to do a cross but was caught by Tsukishima's arms blocking it down earning them another point. This has been 3 points in a row and making their opponents slightly flustered.

"Was Karasuno this strong of a team.. I thought they were fallen champions of something like that.

The spectators marveled at 3 points Karasuno got and wondered if the fallen champs where no longer what they were.

'We still haven't begun to pull out our full force.' Haruto thought in his head as he glanced at Hinata who was eagerly waiting to be put on since he was still being played for by Nishinoya.

Haruto smiled and put his hands up on the net trying to block the other side's view, ready to continue playing the game.
