The Sanctuary Series

Hi, my name is Nikita Slater and I'm the International Bestselling author of The Queens series, Fire & Vice series, The Sanctuary series, Driven Hearts series and several standalone novels. I've loved the written word my entire life and am an avid reader, as well as a writer. I live, eat and breathe books and I'm always working on something new! I live on the beautiful Canadian prairies with my son and crazy awesome dog. I have an unholy affinity for books (especially dark romance), wine, pets and anything chocolate. Despite some of the darker themes in my books (which are pure fun and fantasy), I am a staunch feminist and advocate of equal rights for all races, genders and non-gender specific persons. When I'm not writing, dreaming about writing or talking about writing, I love to help others discover a love of reading and writing through literacy and social work. Only the strongest can survive in a hostile world ravaged by a disease that turns humans into primitives. She is the Desert Wren, a rebel bent on providing safe passage to illegal refugees entering into her Sanctuary city. If she’s caught she’ll be executed, but the price is worth the privilege of doing what she knows is right. Except when she’s finally caught, the sentence isn’t death, it’s her freedom. It’s the Warlord’s job to weed out the weak and sacrifice them for the good of the Sanctuary. Brutal and autocratic, he is the highest authority. The only threat to his dictatorship is a rebel faction rising up from the slums of his city. When he arrests a rebel leader, the Desert Wren, he sees his redemption. She will help him guide Sanctuary into the future. He just needs to convince his little captive that she’s better off with him than flying free. What is the price of Sanctuary in a dying world and is it worth the sacrifice?

Hello to my potential readers. I'll post once a week, but it'll take about 5 months worth of chapters before any action really starts. I'll just try to intrigue people with WORLD BUILDING for those that like slow burning novels.

After reading 3 chapters, it is possible to single out chapters that are very large in terms of the volume of what is written. But what affects the plot itself is 40% of 100% in the chapter. From 3 chapters about the world and in general about the main character, we learn little other than that he is a knight. Interaction with the world and minor characters seems to be there, but it seems not. There are a couple of points in the story that are really well described. But the dialogues are devoid of any emotions, there is no description of the village. Why describe each character to describe in 1st person whom the hero encounters? If there are several characters in the story, who the readers will watch can be written as a separate chapter and indicate the character through him, as this can confuse the reader. Why release such big chapters? If you break all these 3 chapters into small ones, you get at least 3 chapters each. I recommend the author to reduce the volume of chapters, to think about how and who will be described and from what person, to think over the world in more detail, there is point A, but along the way, the reader should see that this world is alive, like the characters in it. At this point in this story, there are so many questions and so few answers, and with the release of long chapters like these 3 once a month, readers will forget what the plot is about. And the advice "in our world" Spend an analogy with the world that you describe. Added to the collection I hope the author will listen.

I don't know what you want to achieve, but I guess you should work more on your book, like first three chapters, they are only three...lol...are clearly lifeless. Confusing and I don't know how to describe it...Whatever, if you decide on writing one chapter per month then make the chapter interesting enough to make readers wait.
