CHAPTER 2: MARRIED IN A FLASH

Eloisee stood there watching the vacant spot the wolf was at moments ago.

It wasn't hostile, but its behavior was the peculiar one. It just looked at her and ran but her sharp nose caught its scent.

It smelled like a damp rainforest, with an olive odor, she never smelled that blend of scents before. It was thick and heavy making her head feel light.

She shifted back into her human form and sat on the rock, she gazed at the fish jumping out and would occasionally skid stones across the surface.

She looked at the sky, Jeremy's words ringing in her head. She was going to be someone's wife.

Eloisee thought to herself, was her marriage going to be worse than her current life? What was her new life going to be like? Will he be worse than Jeremy?

' You said your husband." Ger wolf chipped in.

Eloisee laughed dryly, the alpha was going to be her husband. Saying that in her mind made her stomach flip.

She had abandoned the fantasy tale of being married much less marked after her mother died and her father worked himself to his grave. Jeremy snuffed the thoughts and made her feel like a caged bird.

Her wolf whimpered as Eloisee's sadness affected its mood. " Stop thinking sad thoughts, just be happy we are getting away from that monster. And you don't need to be without a pack."

Eloisee picked another stone and threw it atop the water. " What if he is going to be worse than Jeremy then what?" Her golden eyes watched as the rock skidded on the water and hit the fish that jumped out.

" Trust me, I feel like he is going to be special, you need to head back it's almost time."

Eloisee laughed inside as she jumped off the rock. She changed into her wolf form and returned to the pack grounds.

On her return, she was swarmed by the maids under Jeremy's command and Eloisee found herself sitting in front of the mirror.

One of the maids was working on her hair, the other was working on her nails and the third one was out of her sight looking at her wardrobe searching for non-torn clothes to make her wear.

She trailed her hand on the large scar running from her neck to her back, her eyes dropped as she remembered how she got it. As she ran her fingers on its length slowly, Eloisee felt like she was there.

In her ears she was hearing the sound of thunder and lightning, the voice of her mother yelling at her to run, the rushing river, and gunshots.

A tear escaped her right eye and the maid doing her hair caught the sad look. " Are you okay?"

Eloisee snapped out of her trace and wiped the tear, she plastered a smile and nodded, her mother's death was public knowledge, she assumed they knew about it.

Her makeover took a couple of minutes and when they were done, Eloisee was left astounded. This is me? she thought looking at the full-body mirror.

Her long brown hair was combed and tied into a bun, her alabaster skin clean from any grime she had accumulated, making it pop out more, a light blush accentuated her eye color and a small dose of lip gloss made her full lips stand out, the lip gloss also hid the bruise she got from Jeremy's forceful kiss.

She wore a low-collar v-cut shirt that made her chest stand out and a pair of faded blue jeans. Her feet were covered by black Converse shoes.

Eloisee wiggled her toes as she walked, it felt foreign to wear shoes after she had gone that long without them, her feet were already used to being bare, even thorns didn't bother her but she had to look presentable.

She was brought to the office by one of the maids.

The maid knocked on the doors and "enter" came from the other side, she opened the door for Eloisee and told her good luck then excused herself.

Eloisee peeked into the office before entering. She immediately shrunk into her clothing when every eye in the office turned to her.

" So this is her? Are you certain she has the blood of an alpha? She doesn't look like she does"

Eloisee turned to look at the person who said that and she stopped, she forgot to breathe for a moment.

He had dark locks covering his face, and low eyelids covering his dark eyes. Angled jawline and high cheekbones. His pale skin tone made his features stand out more.

He sat on the chair, one leg over the other, his hand balanced on the armrest of the chair. Adorned on his hand were golden hand chains which moved with a his breathing.

Jeremy furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes darting between Eloisee and Riviera. He forced a smile to his face and got up from his desk. " I assure you, she is the sole daughter of our last alpha, she is of pure blood." He stood beside her and placed his hand around Eloisee's back.

Eloisee flinched slightly but the stern look from Jeremy made her stand still.

Riviera looked at them, his eyes narrowed. Even if he had just met her, the way Jeremy behaved crossed the line, especially as it was done to his future mate. " I see, im not disappointed, we can proceed with the meeting, I'd like it if we can hurry with this and not delay it." His cold and firm voice compelled Jeremy to move to his seat and go ahead with the meeting.

Eloisee watched as the two men spoke, she had never seen the proudful Jeremy, Alpha of the Silvermount pack, tremble more than he did when Riviera talked to him. Her gaze focused on Riviera, he was an enigma. Quiet yet authoritative, firm in his commands.

She began to wonder what was his pack like. Were they tough like him? Were they welcoming or cold?

She spaced out for a moment trying to figure out her future pack.

Her future in his pack, she was going to be their Luna after all.

' You should get your things we are leaving."

Eloisee snapped out of her trace yet again, this time by Riviera's cold voice and scent.

She sniffed the air and her eyes widened, the scent was similar to that of the wolf she met earlier but it was faint. She quickly spun on her heel and bolted out of the office chasing behind Riviera. " Wait!" She yelled out.

Riviera stopped walking and turned around, his large black coat moving with him. " Something i can help you with?"

Eloisee opened her mouth but words did not come out, she closed her mouth and muttered nothing under her breath.

She watched as Riviera left without saying a word and she returned to her small room.

Eloisee stopped before the worn old door, it was left adjure from the people who were there during the meeting. She pushed away the door and walked into the room.

Her room was vacant, she looked at the source of light coming in from the small window and couldn't help but shed a tear, before her eyes her childhood played out. Her mother teaching her how to count, and some nursery rhymes, and her father playing with her hide-and-seek.

The nostalgia brought by the empty room unraveled memories she had buried in her heart, as much as she had suffered post her parents' death, this room she was standing in was the only source of happiness in a world covered by pain.

The door slammed behind her and she spun around coming face-to-face with two pools of blood riveting in anger.

Jeremy stepped closer while Eloisee stepped back. His lips tucked up into a smirk, his fangs out for the world. " You thought because he was here to take you, you'd be safe from me? How naive my little pet, you can never escape me, even if you go to the edge of the world I'll be there."

Eloisee's eyes widened. The choice of words Jeremy used were the same ones he used before, she started to scream in her heart.

Not in that room, anywhere but that room. " Jeremy stop, n-not here." She let her thoughts slip out her mouth while tears fell freely down her face.

Eloisee's back hit the wall and a veined arm slammed on the wall beside her head. She looked at the red eyes trembling.

" Oh so now you can talk back, such a spine you developed." Jeremy spat, his face distorted from spite.

The last place of her innocence and childhood was about to be tainted.

Fate was cruel.

Eloisee for the first time in 15 years cried out for a savior, to save her from this nightmare.
