Chapter 2:

Recap

**********************************************

When I woke up, Mom was looking at something. I followed her gaze and saw such a big and colourful sign that said, ' Welcome to Las Vegas'.

I then mumbled to myself, "Let the new journey begin..."

(Amanda's POV)

Whilst Mom and I were admiring the sign, a car pulled up next to us. A teen about 6.0 ft got out of the car.

He had a dirty blonde hair colour and piercing blue eyes, and he was wearing all black.

He looked to be about 17 or 18 years old, as I noticed that he had a very "unnoticeable"😂😂 pimple on his nose which he thought he could easily conceal by using a small band-aid to cover it up. Too bad the band-aid wasn't doing a really doing a good job of hiding it.

Immediately after the slight scrutinising of his appearance, I noticed that he also had a knife and a gun with him.

I started panicking because I thought he was a hunter and I didn't want to take a chance like the last time by playing it off as nothing when it was really something, so I told Mom and she started driving.

The boy then got in his car and started following us, so Mom sped up, as she too was in a state of trepidation.

"Mom, can't you drive any faster please?", I asked.

"Unfortunately not, and the fuel's almost finish as well", Mom replied.

After driving for another five minutes, our car came to a standstill. The boy from the other car proceeded to stop behind us *urgh* and he got out of his car and slowly approached us.

Mom and I got out and stood in front of the car, awaiting a response from the mysterious teen.

When he got to our car, he said: "What are you doing trespassing on Blue Eclipse Pack's territory, rogues?"

I could sense that he held power but not as much as an Alpha, and surely I would know because I've got Alpha blood in me.

Mom said: "Actually, we were on our way to the Blue Eclipse Packhouse to ask the Alpha if we could join."

The teen then introduced himself as Caleb Knight, Beta of the Blue Eclipse Pack, and he said that he will take us to the Alpha.

This put us at ease as we now knew his true identity so Mom introduced us as Michelle and Amanda Ryder.

Mom and I got back into the car and followed Beta Caleb to the Blue Eclipse Pack's Packhouse.

It took us not even twenty minutes to arrive at the packhouse from the border which was suprising for me as it usually took quite some time to get from the border to the packhouse in the other packs.

Beta Caleb then led us to the parking area where there were hundreds, and I mean HUNDREDS of cars parked already. We parked our cars and stepped out.

We walked for two minutes in a North Easterly direction before I saw why the period of time to reach the packhouse was so short. Even though the territory was big, the packhouse was HUGE and took up lots of space!

In front of me was a packhouse which looked to be about 10 floors tall and it had the loveliest exterior design which I had ever seen.

While i was admiring the beauty of the packhouse, I heard someone shouting to Beta Caleb: "Ay there Caleb. Got some newbies for the pack?"

"You know it John! Alpha is going to be so proud that his pack is expanding. Soon we'll be the biggest and strongest pack in Las Vegas", replied Caleb.

He then turned to us, and I saw his glazed eyes which meant that he was being mindlinked by someone.

He stood like this for about a minute or two before he addressed us: "Okay, Michelle and Amanda, I explained  your situation to the Alpha and he said that due to certain circumstances, he cannot welcome you into the pack today, but you should settle in so long in one of the rooms and he will see you tomorrow."

After telling this to us, he gave us a brief explanation of who occupied which floors in the packhouse. He said that it was mandatory to know this because this was one way of keeping conflict away, as there were bound to be problems between people when so many of them were staying in the same area and not everyone liked each other.

It turned out that the 10th floor, which is the highest floor in the packhouse, belonged to the current Alpha and the soon-to-be Luna, and they stayed on the East Wing of the 10th floor, while the previous Alpha and Luna (Father and Mother of the current Alpha) stayed on the West Wing of the 10th floor.

Next, on the East wing of the 9th floor, was the current Beta and Beta Female, and on the West Wing of the 9th floor, was the previous Beta and Beta Female (Father and Mother of the current Beta).

On the East Wing of the 8th floor, was the current Gamma and Gamma Female, and on the West Wing of the 8th floor, was the previous Gamma and Gamma Female (Father and Mother of the current Gamma).

Next, on the East Wing of the 7th floor, we have the Female Warriors and on the West Wing of the 7th floor, we have the Male Warriors.

The whole of the 6th and 5th floor was reserved for any guests who were visiting. Mom and I were told that these rooms were usually occupied by the high ranking people of other packs for when they had to sort out treaties with the Alpha.

Next, on the 4th floor, we're the people who were waiting to be welcomed into the pack. These people would have to be apart of the Welcoming Ceremony which occurred over a period of three days because of the amount of recruits who were being welcomed into this pack. After being welcomed, they would then stay on this floor before some of them were assigned the roles of being apart of the Warriors of the pack.

The next floor, the 3rd floor, was where the middle-aged people and the elderly were housed.

On the East Wing of the 2nd floor, was where the Omegas of the pack stayed. The kitchen, pantry and the entertainment rooms were on the West Wing of the 2nd floor.

Finally, on the 1st floor, we had the lobby and a few more entertainment rooms.

He then told us that some people who had families preferred living in their own house so not everyone stayed in the packhouse. These houses were apparently scattered around the packhouse though to ensure that the families could still be protected if there were rogues in the territory.

After the "brief" explanation, he took us to one of the rooms on the fourth floor in the packhouse, and told us to make ourselves comfortable before he left.

Mom then turned to me and said with an exhausted sigh: "Shoo, what a day! Let's start with unloading our stuff from the trunk."

I replied, " Yip, it was definitely a hectic day and tomorrow will be worse because we will be meeting the Alpha and we will have to prepare for the welcoming ceremony in a new pack, again."
