Chapter 9

Walking into school I almost had a heart attack as James and Ethan came out of nowhere. Both of them flanked my sides.

'Where did you guys even come from?' I asked breathlessly.

'Heaven of course,' James said, amusing himself.

'Yeah right,' I scoffed. James just smiled wickedly,

'We're so heavenly that we even made you breathless.' James said this while slinging his arm around my shoulder. That did not sit well with my wolf I could feel her displeasure by it. Just as I thought this Adam popped up and he glared at the arm on my shoulder for a second until he caught me staring at him. Then he just faked a smile and pushed James's arm off.

‘Careful James she bites.' He said it in a joking manner but I couldn't help but feel as if there was a slight bit of irritation in his words.

I looked at him as if to say what's wrong but he just smiled and slung his arm around me, okay then... James and Ethan looked at each other as if they were communicating with each other; slight frowns appeared on their faces.

Either this is all just nothing or I'm being paranoid or something is going on.

Adam brought me out of my thoughts by tapping me slightly.

'Yohooo, Tori I'm talking to you.'

'Huh, what sorry,' Adam just smirked at me and rolled his eyes.

'As I was saying, I thought we could hang out after school. Go for a coffee at Jennifer’s if you're not busy?'

'Yeah sure, I'll meet you at your death trap.' I said smiling at him. He hates it when I refer to his baby like that, aka his motorcycle. Adam glared at me,

'Now that's just rude you're hurting her feelings.'

‘How many times must I tell you, to not refer to it as a her,' I said back. Adam just rolled his eyes again.

‘You know while you roll your eyes look for a brain back there will yah.' I couldn't help but snicker at his facial expression.

‘There you go being rude again.' Adam was trying to act hurt but I could see him trying not to smile.

The bell rang and we rushed off to our classes.

It was finally the end of the day and I couldn't wait to go have coffee with Adam. I really just wanted to relax for a bit with my bestie. Adam would probably laugh his butt of if he knows I referred to him as my bestie.

I walked towards his motorcycle which was a beauty to be honest it was pure black and was a BMW make that's about all I know oh and that it kills people for a living.

I was just looking around for Adam when I spotted Ethan and James together starring at me. A little freaked out I waved at them and they waved back. Ethan had a sort of glazed over look, like he was mind linking someone then he whispered something to James and they both took off...weird probably a pack thing.

'Ah look, my beautiful baby girl is waiting for me.' I turned around to find Adam looking at me. Did he just call me his beautiful baby girl?! Wha- my thoughts completely cut of when he side stepped me and had a very awkward hug with his motorcycle.

I just watched from the side lines as he cooed to it saying God knows what. Just then I caught him say how sexy she was.

I really couldn't help it, I burst out laughing, tears where threatening to fall because I was laughing so hard. I was literally clutching my stomach. It probably wasn't even that funny but man if you had seen it for yourself.

'Tori get on and stop embarrassing yourself seriously your laugh is shameful.' Adam was totally messing with me.

‘Wait...what! Me the embarrassingly shameful one? Hell, you're cooing to your motorcycle and telling her how sexy she is, Adam that's out right shameful.' Adam glared at me playfully.

'Yeah, yeah you're just jealous it's okay I would be too if I were you. I mean how you compete with this baby right here.' He said stroking the handle.

I just ignored him and jumped behind him after putting on my helmet I swear I heard an intake of breath as I wrapped my arms around him.

I must admit I had a love-hate relationship with Adams motorcycle as I loved the feeling of the wind on my skin and how fast we were going. It was almost like the feeling you get when you're in wolf form and you're running through the forest, free and wild.

We finally pulled up at Jennifer’s and Adam stopped. Hopping of I grinned at him.

'She's amazing right.' Adam said grinning back. He needs some serious help that's all I'm saying.

'You need help.' I voiced my thoughts and Adam instantly stopped grinning. He pouted, huffed, stomped his feet and took off.

I couldn't help but laugh at his ridiculous display of childish behavior.

I took off after him and nudged his side.

'Aw come on I'm sorry okay.'

I could see him hiding his smile; he was going to cave in about,

'I know I am.' He nudged my side and ruffed up my hair.

We both stepped inside and I heard the bell ring, signaling a customer.

A waiter came to our table near the window and took our orders.

Adam and I were almost finished with our meals when all of a sudden the most tantalizing smell wafted through the air, I could feel my wolf became hyper aware. She was letting of very strong emotions,

Longing

Desire

And the scariest one, an emotion I definitely did not harbor,

Love, that could only mean one thing,

My stupid mate was here.
